Just over four weeks to go now until the premiere of Drive...

How are you responding to the series so far, based on the promotion?

How do you feel about the concept - too strange, too narrow, too complex, or just too good?

Do you think this will be the show to break Tim Minear's string of bad luck (after the premature cancellations of Firefly, Wonderfalls, and The Inside)?

What do you think of the casting? Much has been made in the press of the multitude of recasting that occured after the pilot was picked up by the network. Do you think Tim Minear's made the right choice in bringing in Nathan Fillion and Amy Acker, two people he's worked with extensively before? Or do you think that the nostalgiac aspect of the casting will backfire?

And on a scale of one to ten, just how gorram excited for this show are you?!

Mmm, I might give it a try. The concept seems creative enough, but I'm not sure how many scenes in a car I can handle in an episode.

I don't know much about the cast and really haven't seen them in anything else, so I really don't have an opinion there.

I'll have to wait to decide whether or not the show will make it after the Pilot. Right now the previews haven't really grabbed me, but 30 seconds to sum up an entire new premise to a series really isn't time to do anything justice.

So all in all, I'm probably a 6 out of 10.

tikidawg, are you familiar with Minear's stuff outside Drive, or are you interested based purely on the network's promos? I only ask because it seems a lot of the internet chatter on the show seems to come from people/communities who are already fans of (or are at least well-versed in) Tim Minear's (or Nathan Fillion's) prior projects.

I think you make a good point regarding the whole "30 secs to launch a new premise" thing... after all, Veronica Mars hardly sounds like an exciting show on paper, and yet it's one of the most original and critically acclaimed tv products of the past decade!

I'm watching it as a replacement for Prison Break and it'll be on before 24 anyways, so if I end up liking it after the first few episodes, I'll keep watching it.

i too will give it a try. it's starting off behind the eight ball though. it's a new concept,... kinda, and it's a late season premiere. i'm a nathan fillion fan and have been waiting for his next tv project. it's too bad that it's under these circumstances and the odds are it won't last. hopefully, it's good and does what most shows can't - make it thru a first season.
