FOX has removed the last two episodes of Drive from its schedule. Does anyone know for sure if they will be shown? Do you think we'll ever see them? Those assholes could at least put them online.

illegal...crosscountry..roadrace?

I doubt we'll ever see them Kelly, not that I've seen the other ones either. It will vanish into the abyss of cancelled FOX shows with Oliver Beene.

Yes, but I'm not planning on ever buying the DVD. We were promised these episodes on our TVs!

You mean they cancelled the July 13th showing?! Argh! You know, Drive wasn't even a favorite of mine, but when the network schedules and cancels the airings of the last two episodes THREE times, it pisses off even casual fans. I hope they show them online–and there is precedent of Fox doing that for Vanished, at least, so there's hope there. (I'm not planning on buying the DVD, either.)

As this show is about an illegal crosscountry roadrace.. I'm sure the episodes will be available Online in a not so legal crosscountry roadrace manner.

Heh, yeah, that's how I was planning on getting them. However, if there's no DVD, how will anyone ever get those episodes?

I'm fairly certain a DVD will be released, but I won't hold my breath. Another one of Tim Minear's failed FOX shows, The Inside, never had a DVD release. Luckily, the unaired eps were eventually shown in the UK.

P.S. Mr. Minear? Please stop taking your wonderful shows to FOX.

Bad news... FOX Dumps "Drive" For Good

FOX Wrote:
FOX has officially nixed its planned "Drive" burn off while a special all-new "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" has been slated for Monday, July 23 at 8:00/7:00c.

The former news was tucked away in Monday's scheduling updates released by the network. Originally targeted for Wednesday, July 4, the two-episode broadcast was then shifted to Friday, July 13. Now said installments have been shelved for good ("The previously announced DRIVE episodes are no longer scheduled to air," notes the release). In its place on Friday, July 13, FOX will revert back to its previous schedule for the night - a repeat of "Bones" and the penultimate episode of "Standoff." Subsequently, the following week (July 20) will likewise revert to a repeat of "Bones" and the series finale of "Standoff."

Good(ish) news! The remaining two episodes will be available to watch online. They should be up here sometime Monday, July 16. Sucks for people who aren't US residents, though.

There's also a really great interview here with Tim Minear and Craig Silverstein that tells what would have happened in the show.

Thanks for the link. So Minear's got something else in the works -- hopefully he's learned his lesson and will stay far away from FOX.

I remember hoping that a couple series ago. Apparently, not so much. I've read in the past that he's okay with making these 13-episode miniseries before his shows are cancelled, though he didn't even get that this time.
