Screw You FOXRating: 7 likes, 0 dislikes
Screw you FOX for canceling yet another amazing show. Why do I bother watching your new shows? Well because despite you never giving your shows a chance you do manage to grab some great concepts.
Drive was different and compelling. The few episodes we got were well written and well directed. Nathan Fillion was perfect, you couldn't ask for a better actor for the show's concept.
So what's to blame for the show's failure? One word is the answer FOX. The advertising was horrible. Most of people I talked to said the ads made it look horrible. It's truth, they did. I only watched it because I'm fan of Tim Minear's (Firefly, Angel) previous work as well as Nathan Fillion's (Firefly). However the same people that said that I was able to convince to watch the show and they fell in love with it in only 4 episodes. Not only is FOX's marketing to blame for the failure of Drive but so is FOX itself. Canceled after 4 episodes, 4 episodes! They didn't even give it a chance. Low ratings, bam axe. Not even an attempt to advertise it more, re-run the episodes in a min-marathon and advertise the hell out of it, nothing. The last person(s) to blame would be the two creators, especially Tim Minear. They have little fault to the failure of Drive but there is the fact that they signed on to do a new show for FOX. They should have known better, especially given Minear's previous show, Firefly, being axed by FOX as well.
In short Drive was a great show and had alot of potential but don't bother watching it now. Only 4 episodes have aired and who knows if the remaining 3 that were filmed will really ever be aired. Atleast FOX could have given them a few more episodes to finish the story.
NOTE TO FOX: Screw you. Stop canceling shows at the slightest bit of ratings trouble.
NOTE TO MINEAR: For the sake of your fans next time go with The CW or SciFi or don't do it all. Don't even put us through the grief.
