| Show FAQ | Why were most of the roles recast from the original pilot? As explained in "Show Trivia", the first pilot was not originally picked up to series by FOX. When the network decided to resurrect the project, with Tim Minear hired as an executive producer, many of the original cast had moved on to other projects. Due to the availability problems, Minear and his cohort Ben Queen were forced to recast many of the roles, the exceptions being Corinna (Kristin Lehman), Wendy (Melanie Lynskey) and Violet (Emma Stone); Taryn Manning was also recast in a different role to the one she initially had.
Also, although this is only speculative, its possible that once Minear came on-board, changing the vision and the aims of the series, some of the actors simply did not fit the bill of the revamped series. | Drive had a 13 episode order - how come only 6 are listed? FOX's original schedule for the show had the first 6 episodes airing Mondays at 8pm, until May 7th - the show would then go on hiatus until some point during the summer, when the final 7 first-season episodes would be aired.
Unfortunately, due to low ratings, Drive was cancelled by the network after only six episodes had been produced - hence why we only have six listed in the episode guide. If any information (working scripts, plot synopses) comes out regarding the other seven episodes, rest assured you'll be able to find it here. | Who sings the theme song? The theme song for Drive is actually sung by Gavin Rossdale (lead singer of the band Bush, sometime-husband of Gwen Stefani), and is titled "Can't Stop The World". It is taken from his (forthcoming, at the time of writing this) debut solo album. |
