Jane is having a bit of a dream where she is lucky enough to experience an adult male review. They are the Thunder from Down Under and it is quite naughty until the Bailiff that she used to date, Hank, shows up in it. Stacy thinks that maybe her subconscious is trying to tell her that she should give him another shot. She is too preoccupied to even bother trying to deal with that situation due to work, however.
Jane has a potentially new client who is an evil fashion designer named Ellie Tannen. She needs a team of lawyers and she is looking right at Jane for it. Jane finally seals the deal when she takes her scarf that is made by her and puts it on her head instead of her neck. That is when Ellie starts being a lot nicer to Jane than she was before. She tells her that her assistant has gone and written a book about her that tells the world everything about her secrets. She wants to get it stopped immediately. Unfortunately, it cannot even be attempted until it is actually published. This is based on free speech. Ellie says that if she can't actually get it stopped from publication then she is going to try to find a lawyer that actually can. Jane tells her that due to the amount of the writing that has been sent out, it was already "de facto published".
It is learned that Dawn had pitched it before she even got to work for the mean fashion designer. She had faked a resume so that she would get closer to her and write this book. When she leaves, Ellie walks out and tells all of the reporters and world that she'll be dropping her charges. Right after, she gets herself a new line launched which basically means that she had done this as a publicity stunt. It seems that she was picked due to the fact that she thought she was a welcome mat.
There is a second plot twist, however. Ellie comes to see Jane and starts to beg her AGAIN about stopping the publication of the book. It seems that she has since read the book and that there is a secret that she doesn't want anyone to know about. It seems that Ellie is going blind and Dawn had illegally forged some documents to get her medical records. Unfortunately, the judge can't stop the publishing of the book but she is awarded with damages that make the book useless. Dawn says that she is going to write articles on it and Jane throws the forgery charges at her instead.
Outside of her legal life, Jane has decided that she is going ask Hank out to a dinner party. It turns out that he is already going as the host of said party is definitely his girlfriend. There is a lot going down at this dinner party. She is in nasty defensive mode. She snaps on Fred and even Stacy. Then she kicks out the trio when she finds out that this was going to be a date.
Elsewhere, Kim and Grayson are dealing with a case that is harder than usual. There is a woman that has passed away and she has no will. She has a wife that is fighting with her family due to her assets. Her wife started off as her husband and they are fighting that due to the fact that she had a sex change, it no longer a viable contract. They are trying to to work it out so that she will admit to still being a male, but the client won't acknowledge her being male.
Grayson has a habit of doing origami which means that he is unahppy. She asks him what is going on and she lets him know that he can actually use precedent to use what is said on the birth certificate to identify her gender. He beats the case and goes to talk to her about it. He says that love transcends physical boundaries and she decides to tell him what is going on and then Fred stops her. He says that Grayson might be perfect for her but he is really going to have to fall for Jane, not Deb.
