With Alexis Foster gone from the competition, John Glosson and J Rome from Jennifer Nettles’s Team, Olivia Chisholm from Robin Thicke’s Team, Jordan Meredith and Jason Farol from Kelly Clarkson’s Team and Bridget Carrington and Meleana Brown from John Legend’s Team are still in it. Tonight is Party Songs as the duets continue to try to impress the other mentors. Quddus comes out and welcomes the crowd and mentors. He says that another amateur will be going home. Robin says that this is all about having fun and getting their career started. The night kicks off.
Jason Farol is up first and they look at his performance. She realizes that there were some pitchy parts. They are going to sing “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones. Jason is looking forward to singing this song because he can relate. Kelly says that Jason needs to move and dance. He says that he can have fun. They come out and sing the song. Afterward, Jennifer says that was his best performance so far and says that he has potential to grow. John says that this was his most effective vocals, but thought the movements were strange. Robin says that was his best and says that he had to look at Kelly with her shake that she was doing, but says that it was good. The scores are tallied and he takes the 1st place.
Bridget Carrington is up next and they don’t want her to go back to her job and John says that he knows what she is going through. She says that it is good to know that John has been in her shoes. They are going to sing “Last Dance” by Donna Summer. John says that he needs something that is going to make him cry. They come out and sing the song. Afterward, Kelly says that she loved the ending and says that they were cute up there. However, she needs to face the audience. Jennifer says that this is the favorites and says that it was really big and fun. Robin says that she has a passion, but wanted her to have more fun on it. He says that she always does a good job. The scores are tallied and she takes the 1st place and Jason moves to 2nd place.
Next up is J Rome. Jennifer tells him that they need to reach for the stars and they have to keep the number one spot. They are going to sing “P.Y.T.” by Michael Jackson. J Rome says that he wants to be able to get people dancing to this song and have fun. They come out and sing. Afterward, Kelly says that she didn’t like that it looked like he was impersonating Michael Jackson. Robin says that this is a stepping stone for his career. John says that it was a little nasal, but says that he is awesome. The scores are tallied and he is in 1st place. This means that Bridget and Jason move down a spot.
Olivia Chisholm is next and Robin has his son there. He says that he wanted to show her that music and his family are his everything. He says that they are going to sing “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green. They work on the melodies and get it right. They come out and sing the song. Afterward, John says that she sounded smooth, but needed a little bit more strength. Kelly says that she has amazing breath control. However, she came off as pitchy. Jennifer says that she wanted the energy. She says that it was a great performance. The scores are tallied and she takes the 4th place.
Jordan Meredith is up next. Kelly says that she was amazing and shows her the performance. They enjoy the replay and Kelly compliments it. She says that she needs the attitude and says that they are going to be singing “I Love Rock and Roll” by Joan Jett. Jordan says that the bar is set and she wants to up her game. They come out and sing the song. Afterward, Jennifer says that she felt a little of the nerves, but loved that she took the high note. Robin says that she got to show her strength last week and says that he missed that. John says that Jordan should be barefoot and says that last week was better. The scores are tallied and she takes the 3rd spot.
Meleana Brown is up next. John says that they are going to sing “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson. She says that she wants to be going on stage better and says that she is going into this a little nervous. John says that she is going to be great. They come out and sing the song. Afterward, Kelly says that she was blown away. She says that she was a little pitchy, but it is supposed to be. Jennifer says that there may be pitchy problems, but it was good. Robin says that it was weird to hear John sing the song. He says that it was good. The scores are tallied and she takes 5th place.
Up last before the results is John Glosson. They get into the rehearsals and Jennifer says that they are going to be singing “Life Is A Highway”. He says that they need to make the first part of the song better and once they get with the band, it was a lot of fun. John says that he wants to show that he can have fun. They come out and sing the song. Afterward, Kelly says that this was the perfect song and says that she felt him this time and that he had a fun time. Robin says that his voice was so good and says that he doesn’t have to do much and says that he has the swagger and says that he is unstoppable. John says that he was great and didn’t mind him having fun. The scores are tallied and he takes the 3rd place. This means that Meleana Brown and Olivia Chisholm are going to battle it out.
Meleana Brown and Olivia Chisholm come to the center of the stage singing Achepela. Meleana sings “Saving All My Love for You”. Next, Olivia sings “I Can’t Make You Love Me”. Afterward, Robin says that both of them are beautiful and says that this is the beginning of her career. John says that they were great. Kelly says that she knows what they are going through and knows that it is hard. Jennifer says that regardless of what happens, they are great.
