Recap

The episode begins with a man wearing a creepy mask and a hoodie robbing a house. He then arrives in a room where a couple is tied up and their faces are covered with pillows. The masked man shoots both of them. At home, Holmes and Watson are still not talking properly with each other. Watson tells him that this has to stop. She knows that she overstepped her boundaries by talking to Alister and asking him about Irene. But this is her job. Holmes gets a text from Gregson about the double homicide. Episode Quotes
(Sherlock answers the phone)
Sherlock: Watson, I admire your persistence but the reception is ... where ... m ...
Watson: (Comes around the corner behind him) Really? Because my phone is working fine, four bars and everything.

(Sherlock finds Walsh the alibi he didn't want them to have.)
Bell: Walsh's sex slave is his alibi for the Myrose killing?
Sherlock: I'm afraid it looks that way.

(Watson goes to Hemdale to do some research on Sherlock.)
Dr. Ryan: You want insights into Sherlock Holmes? I'll give you an insight. He's childish and self absorbed. He spent nearly every group session in total silence. He was bar none the least cooperative patient I've ever had.

(Sherlock continues on his issue with Watson when she comes home.)
Sherlock: I sent you a text with my exact location every two hours.
Watson: I was busy.
Sherlock: I left some urine in your room.
Watson: Tell me it's in a cup...

(Sherlock warns Gregson about the new evidence)
Gregson: Every cop gets offered a few perks. Free lunch here, gym membership there. I never took a single one, and I sure as hell never planted evidence.
Sherlock: Well then, could you or your former partner please explain to me how that mug showed up at the crime scene.

(Detective D'Amico reminds Gregson about his part in their problem.)
Gregson: I'll be done, doesn't matter. If I let this happen on my watch, I'm owning up to it. (phone rings) Fair warning, partner.

(Captain Gregson approaches Sherlock while he's investigating.)
Sherlock: Sorry, Captain, could you just give me a minute. (Visibly trying to be respectful and patient while he motions for the captain to move.)
Gregson: I'm trying to tell you something important here.
Sherlock: Yes, but I wouldn't fall on my sword just yet.

(Sherlock abruptly opens the door to the interrogation room.)
Sherlock: Victor Nardin think fast. (throws an orange, hitting Victor in the side of the face)
Bell: What are you doing?
Sherlock: This man is innocent. Detective Bell, a word if you please.
Victor: (Angry) Why he hit me?

(Sherlock finally opens up to Watson)
Sherlock: We were quite close. I did not take her passing very well.

Cultural References
The name of Sherlock's ex-girlfriend "Irene Addler" comes from one of the most recognized women in the Sherlock Holmes canon. She only appeared one time, but left an impression on Sherlock with her intelligence and resourcefulness. She's also, according to Watson, the only person he's ever known to outmaneuver Sherlock.
