One Giant Leap - Recap

The scene opens and it is Launch Day in Eureka. Allison runs up to Jack and says that she is sorry that she ran out on him this morning and he they exchange flirty banter. Fargo and Holly talk to each other and test out the equipment. Fargo talks about their relationship and he suggests that their “first time” be on Titan. Allison hosts a meeting and has Zane lie down. She tells the crew that they are going to be able to rest easy when they are on Titan. Dr. Parrish says that his experiment is going to be able to help them while they are in space and Fargo gives him a hard time about how his experiment is going to Titan without him. They argue and Allison tells them to stop it. Jo goes up to Allison and asks her if she can talk to her and keep it between them. She says that they can. Grace goes up to Henry and asks if six months is not going to be too long. Henry says that it is going to be fine and they kiss. Jack comes in and catches them and says that they have science-y stuff to do. They fire up the FTL for a test drive and everything goes right. Senator Wen comes up and says that they have special guests.

Jo and Jack go out to meet the President of the United States when suddenly there is a blast of something. The limo that is driving the President is cut in two. They get to the limo and Jack says that is not Obama. Jo says that they must have sent a team before to make sure that everything is fine. Allison says that they can triangulate the blast and Jo and Jack go to find where the ray blast came from to begin with. They walk through the woods and Jo tells Jack that it is time that she finds her own place to live now because Allison is most likely going to be moving in with Kevin and Jenna. He asks if she is going to be alright and she says that she has some options. They arrive on the trail and Jack sees that the Ray took care of destroying itself. They also see that the Ray belongs to Dr. Plotkin. They go to his place and he insists that his Ray is not a Death Ray and that it never does things like that or that dangerous. Allison has Kevin come in and see the experiment for Titan and asks him how he would feel about moving in with Jack. He says that it is fine and asks if S.A.R.A.H. is going to clean his room. She says that she will and Kevin is agreeable to all of it.

Taggart collects samples when Jack, Jo and Dr. Plotkin come up. Taggart is not a fan of Dr. Plotkin and they tell that they are only there to turn off Dr. Plokin’s Rays. As Plokin goes to turn it off, Taggart’s truck gets sucked into nothing. He thinks that Plokin had something to do with it and Jack says that they need to hurry and get to all 15 of the Rays and turn them off quickly. He pairs Taggart up with Plokin and Taggart is not happy with it. Back at Global Dynamics, Grace talks to the “Astreus” crew and tells them that the mission is going to test them in more ways then they are used to and they are going to have to be careful while on Titan. Jack and Jo talk about more about whether or not Allison accepted the move-in and Jack says that she hasn’t given him a concrete answer. They find the final Ray and take it off with no problem. Senator Wen talks to Henry and apologizes that he is not going to Titan. He says that it is no big deal and says that he can help Titan. He sees that there is a leak in the containing unit and Wen starts to panic about it. She tells him that they are going to have to get the Launch ready for the liftoff today or else Eureka is no more. Henry says that it is all about the safety of the crew and Wen says that she agrees, but it is clear that she doesn’t agree at all.

Jack and Jo get in and are happy that all the energy rods are turned off. Vince offers a “touch of Titan” and Jo sees a hole forming. Jack and Jo get everyone out and they watch as Café Diem disappears. They go up to Henry and he says that it is possible about Naked Obnobolies. Jack is confused and Allison clarifies and says that it is a Black Hole. Jack asks if Plokin’s Ray’s can help and he says that they can. Theoretically. Jo goes up to Zane and says that she has to go, but wanted to say goodbye to him. She tells that she has other things to do while he is gone. They kiss and Jo says that she has to go and tells him to be safe. Jack and Jo supervise as Plokin sets up the Rods. They see the Black Holes contained.

Fargo goes up to Holly and tells her that he loves her. Holly says that she is lucky and they kiss. Holly grabs Fargo’s butt and they “get busy” on the artificial Titan. Jack and Jo watch with Plokin the little dots of Black Holes forming and then gather together and create a Giant Black Hole. They get back to Global Dynamics and Allison says that they are going to need a supercharged explosion to close it up. Jack remembers that there is Anti-Matter. They tell that they need a delivery system and Jack tells that Plokin is a bomb expert. However, Plokin says that he is not into that anymore. They get him to get a bomb and he says that the missile is going to have to be delivered close to the Black Hole and Jack volunteers. He gets to the Black Hole and manages to get it there. However, he loses his JEEP in the water.

The “Astreus” crew gets ready to Launch and Parrish wishes them luck. Fargo starts to brag and then realizes that Parrish is really crushed about not going. He says that Parrish is part of the team because without his gel, they wouldn’t be going. Parrish thanks him. Jack gets back to Global Dynamics and Allison thanks Jack for his work. He says that they saved the day again. Allison says that she will move in with Jack and he is happy. Allison says that she has to get the crew ready and asks if he has spoken to Jo. He says that he hasn’t and she tells him that he better. Jack goes to the station to see Jo at his desk. She tells that she is not good at goodbyes. She tells that she needs to figure out what she wants and says that she doesn’t think that she can figure it out in Eureka. He says that he is going to miss her. Jo packs her bag and leaves Eureka. Henry packs up the “Astreus” crew and says goodbye to Grace. Allison finishes putting Fargo in his bed and in the control center, Henry gives a speech and they get ready to launch. Suddenly the launch begins without Henry’s command and he says that someone else is controlling the launch. Allison is inside still.

The crew races to find out what could have triggered it and Jack tells Henry that he is going to get Allison out of there. He goes out to the launch pad and aims a gun on the cooling generator. He decides to smash them instead and Jack tries to overheat the chamber to stop the launch. It works for a moment, but the second launch command makes the countdown still continue. Allison races to the seat and the ship goes through the FTL. Jack asks Henry where it could have gone and he says that he doesn’t know where it is or if Allison is alright. The episode ends.
