| 2266 :09x241 - Episode 2266 (Dec/05/2005) | | Sami's wedding day dawns, with an unexpected visit from Brett and a plea to drop the pretence from Babs. Tony tells Cat his wife has left him, inadvertently making her think about how much she cares about her own marriage - not that Doug seems to appreciate her new-found devotion. George receives the offer of a holiday, and invents a dying relative to get time off. | |
| |
| 2267 :09x242 - Episode 2267 (Dec/06/2005) | | Move over Joan Collins and make room for "Super Bitch Shireen". She's pulling out all the stops to make sure Sami marries her and is putting the pressure on Brett to ensure that she gets what she wants. Meanwhile, Babs is putting Mussolini and Hitler to shame with the directing of the panto; this is one empowered woman! Aamina sounds like the TV on the film Poltergeist with her "get out of my house" routine following Sami's outing. No, we don't mean that he went to Alton Towers for the day! Sami's dad dies following the wedding shambles. | |
| |
| 2268 :09x243 - Episode 2268 (Dec/07/2005) | | After walking out on the panto yesterday, Babs gives into the pleas from Cat and Yas and agrees to return on the proviso that she gets the respect she deserves. Babs warns Doug to make more time for Cat before it's too late. Yasmin falls from the stage and fears she's broken her ankle; Tony - King Rat - is left to lock up. Distant hubby Doug shows up with flowers for his neglected wife only to witness the rat ravishing his Cat. Sami is left blaming himself for his father's death. His brother asks him not to attend the burial today. | |
| |
| 2269 :09x244 - Episode 2269 (Dec/08/2005) | | Yasmin advises Sami to move on after hearing that his mother spat in his face at the funeral. So Sami plans to go to Oz with friend-of-Dorothy Brett tomorrow afternoon. Babs is excited at getting first refusal of the shop as she's not quite ready for a sleepy retirement yet. Damian, the victor, piggybacks Yas to the performance. While the panto is in full swing, "Rat Man" is telling Cat that it's all over. Elsewhere, Aamina is offering to help Sami with his evil affliction. But when Sami rejects his mother's so-called help, she stabs him... | |
| |
| 2270 :09x245 - Episode 2270 (Dec/09/2005) | | The cast puts on a perfect performance of the panto, which goes public today, and get rave reviews. Outside, Doug catches "The Rat" and warns him off Cat. Later, he gives Cat a pair of round-the-world cruise tickets departing New Year's day; Cat realises that Doug is one in a million. Before taking home an emotional Babs, Yasmin kisses Damian! Meredith's back from her holiday from hell at the airport, but pretends that she did go to Dubai; Hector and George don't let on that they know otherwise. | |
| |
| 2271 :09x246 - Episode 2271 (Dec/12/2005) | | It's not looking very hopeful for a Merry Costello Christmas; there's no Melanie and no money, just a few secrets tucked away. Still, at least there'll be a surprise to come. Eve's not very happy either after Nathan refuses to visit his mother-in-law. Yasmin plans to be a church volunteer just to get closer to Damian. Competition stiffens between the pub and the café over the seasonal fayre, leaving Katie in her element and the sound bite: "Customers are for life, not just for Christmas". And unlucky Eve gets run over... | |
| |
| 2272 :09x247 - Episode 2272 (Dec/13/2005) | | In the pub, Katie's swooning over Rex. But just when she thought her luck was in, in walks Hester. Eve's left lying in the road while the driver speeds off. Nathan takes the RTA call, but his colleague attends for him. Elsewhere, proud Gary brings home the Christmas tree but Chloe and Chrissy are far from impressed. Back at the station, Nathan deals with a distraught man owning up to a hit and run. In the hospital, George, Meredith and Hector take in Eve unbeknownst to who it is; they were all chatting with her only that morning. | |
| |
| 2273 :09x248 - Episode 2273 (Dec/14/2005) | | Yasmin's in turmoil after arranging wedding flowers for a funeral while volunteering at the church; has she just blown it with Damian, so to speak? Gary's happy that he's got a well paid job, but he's not so happy with the humiliation that comes with it. Nathan gets to Eve's bedside, eventually, and asks about the baby; obviously Hector and George haven't considered this. Hester is giving Katie a hard time and being evasive about her relationship with Rex. And Gary gets it all wrong buying gifts, so loses his rag with Chrissy. | |
| |
| 2274 :09x249 - Episode 2274 (Dec/15/2005) | | Eve wakes up in hospital wondering what has happened. How is Nathan going to tell her that not only did she get hit by a car, but she's also lost the baby and a fallopian tube? Yasmin moves into the church choir and a woman called Vera, behaving more like Cruella de Ville, gives her a hard time. Maybe the title should go to Hester, though, as she hits Katie across the face! Gary sits Nathan down and tells him that what happened to Eve is a blessing really. Belinda gives Gary £1,000 for a perfect Christmas. | |
| |
| 2275 :09x250 - Episode 2275 (Dec/16/2005) | | The Phoenix opens its doors to Charnham while Rex and Cruella de Hester toast to new beginnings. Yasmin finds some cheerier hymns. Cruella de Vera walks out on choir practice after everyone starts to have a bit of fun. Meredith works on being more like a Cruella after admitting she's enjoying watching Katie humiliating herself over Rex day after day. Belinda lets slip to Chrissy that she knew Gary better than either of them have let on. It's obvious that she wants more than friendship from her former boyfriend. | |
| |
| 2276 :09x251 - Episode 2276 (Dec/19/2005) | | Eve comes home from hospital to a lovely Christmas tree and a doting Nathan, who has an engagement ring for her. Hester warns Rex to be careful with Katie, saying that she's already got him out of one mess and can't cover for him again - whatever that means. Yasmin's wondering if going gospel is a tall order for the church choir. Chrissy confronts Myra over the card to Gary from Belinda. Coral's sister shows up with a caravan of offspring all set to ruin the poshoes' festive plans. | |
| |
| 2277 :09x252 - Episode 2277 (Dec/20/2005) | | Gary isn't following Chrissy's demand to pay the money back to Belinda as he's spent the lot. After an injured stuntman takes a fancy to George, Hector finally notices her and takes heed the advice about the quiet ones from the randy patient. Belinda tells a miffed Chrissy she made a pass at Gary. Cat helps Yasmin inject a little soul into the choir, who up until now sounded like a chorus of dying cats. Roxanne gets her own way and gets to stay for longer at the Wildings'. And the Christmas lights get turned on outside The Phoenix. | | Guest Stars: Abbie Steer as Beth | |
| |
| 2278 :09x253 - Episode 2278 (Dec/21/2005) | | It's do or die time for the church choir; will it be jubilation or humiliation for Yasmin? Hector and George finally tell Meredith that they know she didn't go to Dubai. Rather than swallowing her own stuffing, Santa Barbara swallows her pride and digs out the stuff Myra got in for the shop and sells it as her own. It may not be gourmet, but at least it's edible. George curtly informs Hector that becoming another notch on the stuntman's bedpost is exactly what she needs, but Meredith "should be buried in a Y-shaped coffin" Lovechild gets to him first. | |
| |
| 2279 :09x254 - Episode 2279 (Dec/22/2005) | Roxanne's pushing her luck at the Wildings', but maybe taking a credit card is taking things a bit too far. Chrissy can't resist a snoop and agrees to go to the Christmas drinks that Jason and Coral are having. Eve refuses to do Coral's hair after she discovers nits. Meredith's begging George for her forgiveness, as she really should be paying more attention when administering diamorphine. Nathan and Gary make sure Chloe gets her white Christmas, while Roxanne does her best to unwrap Jason. One of Chrissy's wishes comes true.
| |
| |
| 2280 :09x255 - Episode 2280 (Dec/23/2005) | | Damian makes sure that Yasmin doesn't have a lonely Christmas; he has more than presents and decorations for her. Elsewhere, it seems that Chrissy doesn't want her wish after all and throws long-lost Melanie out of the house. Chrissy's vexed that her daughter showed up only to pick some things up and say goodbye. Coral gets rid of her nightmare sister and nit-ridden kids at last. Upstairs in the pub, Katie's making inroads with Rex over dinner; unfortunately, Hester is there too, looking like a Blackpool donkey on a Bank Holiday Monday. | |
| |
| 2281 :09x256 - Episode 2281 (Dec/26/2005) | | Myra sees Gary's frustration so she takes it upon herself to tell Melanie that her mum has cancer. Will this stop Mel from travelling to Ghana as planned? Damian is showing signs of reluctance to be Yasmin's date for the ball. Eileen sends a Christmas card to the Costellos; we wonder what she's up to these days. Katie's happy to be playing tonsil tennis with Rex but isn't so happy to hear him crying out his dead wife's name. Festive celebrations cease after Chrissy collapses. | |
| |
| 2282 :09x257 - Season 9, Episode 257 (Dec/27/2005) | | Katie, once again, wakes up next to a lover full of regret. Obviously being called Rex's ex's name didn't stop her last night. Nurses George and Meredith both get a roasting at work. Hector is held accountable; will he take the rap for the overdose? Gary stands vigil at Chrissy's bedside; the baby is fine but she needs more tests to see if the cancer has spread. Cat feels very awkward when she ends up with Tony, the panto rat, at a dance class. Tony tells Cat that her husband knows about their affair. | |
| |

Hmm. Katie and Rex decide to keep their relationship a secret, but Hester sees them kissing and her blood boils. Yasmin's new, elegant look is a hit with the local vicar! Jason tries to persuade Coral, his material girl, to lend her wedding dress to Eve. Docile Doug gets an ornament thrown at his head when Cat drunkenly tries to get a reaction from him. | |
| |
| 2284 :09x259 - Episode 2284 (Dec/29/2005) | | Cat is feeling remorseful, so tells her dull-but-doting husband that she wishes he would get angry with her. Doug replies that he can't. Jason tells Coral she can have her lip implants if she lends her wedding dress to Saint Eve next door. Coral gets a halo too after Eve is touched by such a lovely gesture. Katie stands her ground when "Hest the Pest" confronts her over her brother Rex; Hester needs to get a life of her own to worry about. George interrupts Hector's interview with Sister Flint to confess her own actions and get Hector off the hook. | |
| |
| 2285 :09x260 - Episode 2285 (Dec/30/2005) | | Meredith breathes a smoked-filled sigh of relief that George took the rap for the patient's overdose. Eve looks stunning in Coral's wedding dress and is now Mrs Fletcher, as her and Nathan have been pronounced man and wife. Yasmin's appropriate dress is ruined, but Damian says he's happy with her own style. A man of the cloth can change his mind over fashion, can't he? Residents celebrate the New Year: George kisses Hector; Meredith sulks alone; Doug punches Tony; and then the series is seen out with fireworks... | |
