Now trapped inside until they are rescued, Peter tells the story of the Griffin family name. Starting all the way back to the caveman era, to his black slave ancestry. Meanwhile, the family chooses Meg (big surprise) to sneak out of the panic room and alert the police.

Peter: Well, I got the idea to build a panic room after I saw that movie The Butterfly Effect. I thought, wow, this is terrible. I wish I could escape to a place where this movie couldn't find me.

(Peter is at top of stairs with bat. Meg runs out)
Meg: I heard a noise! Is something wrong? Are we being robbed? What's going on?
(Peter stairs at Meg for a good 3 seconds and then hits her with the bat)
Meg: AHH!! WHAT THE HELL?!
Peter: Oh, Meg, you startled me!

Meg: I HATE YOU ALL!
Stewie: Yeah, I hate you too bitch. Oh no no, I'm just kidding, could you imagine?

Moses Griffin: Here we are, the Red Sea. Now all we gotta do is swim across.
Jew 1: I didn't bring my trucks.
Jew 2: I don't wanna step on a shell.
Jew 3: I can't get water in my ears.
Jew 4: I ate 20 minutes ago.
Jew 5: You know, what they flush in Cairo ends up right here.
Moses Griffin: (Sigh) All right, I see what I can do. (Parts the Red Sea)
Jew 6: "Oooh, I can part the Red Sea", you know he hasn't talked to his brother in three years.

Peter: Well it sure would suck if you guys died without hearing the story of my great-uncle Peter Hitler who was Adolph's favorite brother.

{Flashback to Nazi Germany}
Peter Hitler: Hey there you are, you ready to go check out that new skin flick at the Booben Garden
Adolph Hitler: Peter, can't you see I'm busy?
Peter: What are you doing... stuff?
Adolph: Yes.
Peter: Nazi stuff?
Adolph: Yes Peter, Nazi stuff.
Peter: Can I help?
Adolph: No Peter just let me work alright?
Peter: Alright, alright, okay, okay.

Oh Sweeet! {Peter makes gun sounds}
That's what a gun sounds like.
Adolph: Will you stop that!
Peter: Hey can I borrow 50 marks?
Adolph: What happened to the 50 marks I gave you last week?
Peter: Oh come on, your girlfriend's not cheap OOOO HaHaHa just kidding... look at your face.
Hey whatever happened to that art school, you ever take another crack at that?
Adolph: Look I'm going to do a rally, I'll be back in an hour.
Peter: A Rally? Sweet.
{At rally speaking to a large crowd}
Adolph: The days of despair and hardship are over. Today begins a new order. All of Europe will tremble as Germany takes its rightful place as ruler of the world!

Come on you deserve it, you deserve it.

Cultural References
Brian: “Peter, what is that?”
Peter: “Well I got the idea to build a panic room after I saw that movie, The Butterfly Effect. I thought, wow this terrible. I wish I could escape to a place where this movie couldn't find me”

2004's “The Butterfly Effect” starring Ashton Kutcher gives Peter the idea of a panic room instead of the obvious choice of Jodie Foster's 2002 movie “Panic Room”

Peter: “Of course I'm obligated by the state of Kansas to present the church's alternative to the theory of evolution”

The alternative choice to evolution is the theory of “Creationism” or “Intelligent Design” presented as if the character Jeannie from the TV show “I Dream of Jeannie” (1965-1970) simply poofed everything into existence and did so to the theme from the TV series.

Caveman Brian: “You so money, don't know it”

This is an altered quote from the 1996 movie “Swingers” starring Vince Vaughn.
The complete quote is “You're so money and you don't even know it!”

Caveman Peter: “Tonight you and me party like it's 9”

Allusion to a chorus from the 1982 Prince song, “1999”.
The line being “So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999”

Peter as Moses: “Jews HO!”

Reference to the 80's cartoon series “Thundercats” (1985-1987). The leader of the Thundercats, Lion-O, would summon the rest of the Thundercats be screaming “Thundercats HO!”

{Billboard} “Danny Gans: Entertainer of the Year”

Danny Gans (1956-2009) was a very sucessful Las Vegas performer. He was known as “The Man of Many Voices” & was dubbed “Entertainer of the Year” 11 years in a row.

Jew: “Mancow in the Morning”

Reference to “Mancow’s Morning Madhouse”, an American radio show hosted by Erich “Mancow” Muller.

The burglar's writing notes and showing them to the camera is an allusion to the 2002 movie “Panic Room” starring Jodie Foster

Peter: “...of course Nate Griffin was his slave name, his real name was Richard Bachman”

Richard Bachman is actually the pseudonym of Stephen King

Peter: “It all began in Africa, in a tiny village called Quahogswana where he was a proud member of the tribe of Tootie & Blair”

Reference to the characters from the TV sitcom “The Facts of Life” (1979-1988) played by Kim Fields (Tootie) & Lisa Whelchel (Blair)

Nate: “Hey Quagdingo”

Possible allusion to the 1975 movie “Mandingo”

Joemamma: “Hey you guys want to go get a drink at Club 227”

Reference to the sitcom “227” (1985-1990) starring Marla Gibbs, Regina King & Jackée Harry

Nate: “I'm going off to find a log to build a drum so I can play the opening part from 'Hot For Teacher'”

“Hot For Teacher” is a song by Van Halen from their album “1984”

Nate: “...I got an idea how to give the captain of this boat what he deserves”
Sailor #1: “Hey where's the captain?”
Sailor #2: “I don't know I haven't seen him all morning”

The captain waking up w/ his bed floating in the ocean is a reference to the 1979 summer camp comedy “Meatballs” starring Bill Murray, including the same song used in the film, “Are You Ready For The Summer” sung by The North Star Kids Choir

Peter: “...Nate soon found himself put to work on a Southern plantation. It was way down there, you know when you stop seeing Howard Johnson's and you start seeing Stuckey's”

Howard Johnson's and Stuckey's are restaurant chains usually found at interstate exits.

Slave Master: “What's your name?”
African Bruce: “Tobi w/ an I”

Allusion to a scene from the 1977 mini series “Roots”. Tobi replaces actor LeVar Burton who's character would be asked “What's your name?” and when LeVar's character responded w/ “Kunta Kinte” he would be whipped and told his name was “Toby”.

Peter: “Then, all of a sudden, he saw her. Lois Laura Bush Lynn Cheney Pewterschmidt”

(Obvious) Reference to the former First Lady Laura Bush & the wife of the former Vice President Lynn Cheney

Peter: “Luckily they were helped by Nate's good friend Al Cowlings who showed up on his trusty white Bronco”

Al Cowlings was the friend of O.J. Simpson who drove the getaway car, a White Ford Bronco, in the infamous slow speed police chase the day O.J. (*ahem* allegedly, wink wink) killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman in 1994.

American actress Judith Light is seen craving the breath of Tony Danza.

Judith and Tony starred together on the sitcom “Who's The Boss” (1984-1992).
Judith Light provided her own voice for this episode.

Peter Hitler: “Hey Addie, I'm Tojo”

Reference to Hideki Tōjō, he was a general in the Imperial Japanese Army and the 40th Prime Minister of Japan during much of World War II, from 18 October 1941 to 22 July 1944.
After the end of the war, Tōjō was executed for war crimes by the International Military Tribunal of the Far East.

Peter Hitler: “Yeah the Germinator. I'll be back”

(Obvious) Reference to 1984's “The Terminator” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger & the iconic line from said movie “I'll be back”

Peter did not care for Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 film “The Godfather” that starred Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall & Diane Keaton but did like the 1986 comedy “The Money Pit” starring Tom Hanks & Shelly Long
