Episode Goofs |
| |
After Stewie jumps from the shelf he says he has a deep gash up the side of his leg but when Brian drags him the living room, there's no injury. | Stewie is afraid of the pool in this episode but in “He's Too Sexy For His Fat” he has no problem swimming and in fact takes to it very easily, even calling himself a “young Johnny Weissmuller” |

Cultural References |
| |
The episode title “Stewie B. Goode” is a reference to the song “Johnny B. Goode”, a 1958 rock and roll song by Chuck Berry | Stewie: “I guess it can't be worse than that summer I spent in India”
Stewie, confusing himself w/ the character “Short Round”, recalls a scene from the 1984 movie “Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom” where he, Indy & Willie face certain doom. | Stewie: “Lady only here cause she humping director”
Reference to the fact that Steven Spielberg, the director of the film meet his future wife Kate Capshaw, who played Willie. They got married in 1991. | Lackluster Video
(Obvious) Reference to Blockbuster Video and the urban legend Blockbuster edits the movies. | The Prince of Tides
1991 movie starring Barbra Streisand & Nick Nolte | Family Feud
Family Feud is a game show that has been around since 1976. It has had various hosts over the years starting with Richard Dawson, Ray Comb, Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, John O'Hurley & Al Roker.
Judging from Peter's suit he may have hosted between the time of Dawson & Comb. | Stewie: “I'll tell you who was brave, Ghandi.”
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi better known as Mahatma Gandhi was known for (this is greatly simplified) employing non-violent civil disobedience for India's struggle for civil rights. He was assassinated in 1948.
| Stewie: “...as easily as I took care of the other boy”
Casper aka Capser the Friendly Ghost was created in the late 1930s by Seymour Reit and Joe Oriolo. | Steve Allen (1921-2000) was a famous broadcaster, actor & author who began his career w/ a show called “Tonight” in the mid 50's and the “The Steve Allen Show” in the 50's/60's.
He worked extensively until his death in 2000 | The tv program that plays exclusively in hell is “Who's the Boss” a sitcom that aired 1984-1992, starred Tony Danza, Judith Light, Alyssa Milano, Danny Pintauro & Katherine Helmond | Stewie: “...because I know now who I want to be”
Stewie sings “I Have Confidence”, a song sung by Julie Andrews' character “Maria” from “The Sound of Music” as she leaves the nunnery to become the caretaker of the VonTrapp children | Brian: “Boy, that was more disturbing than that cartoon I saw yesterday”
Elmer Fudd finally kills Bugs Bunny by shooting him 4 times and breaking his neck to be sure. | Lindsay Lohan | Peter: “Another thing that grinds my gears is when I can't find the droids I'm looking for”
Two Stormtroopers agree with Peter's comments referring to a scene from “Star Wars: A New Hope” at Mos Eisley spaceport when Obi Wan Kenobi using the force, convinces other Stromtroopers that C3Po & R2D2 aren't the droids they're looking for | Peter asks Lara Flynn Boyle if Dylan McDermott is nice.
Lara and Dylan worked together on the ABC show “The Practice” from 1997 to 2004 | Woman: “Hey, we've been waiting”
Man: “Shhh, that's Michael Moore”
Peter being confused w/ Michael Moore could be a comment on the fact Peter's rants on TV are quite similar to Moore's 1999/2000 show “The Awful Truth” | Stewie: “Rupert and I were just about to dine on this mixture of Play-Doh and rug hair”
Play-Doh is an iconic toy that's been around since the 50's | Stewie: “Okay so I was faking being nice, it's not the worst thing I've ever done”
A reference to Steve Bartman when he attempted to catch a foul ball in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Florida Marlins at Wrigley Field.
While only five outs from winning and playing in the World Series, the Cubs ended up losing the game and went on to lose the deciding game of the NLCS the next night.
Bartman had to be led away from the park under security escort for his own safety. | Stewie sings a few lines from “Suicide is Painless” by Johnny Mandel, which are the lyrics for the theme song for TV show M*A*S*H | Peter: “Good thing he didn't call on me, I was going to say Grant Goodeve”
Grant Goodeve, actor and television host, may be best known for playing the eldest son David on Eight Is Enough (1977-1981) | Stewie: “...and who the hell R.M. is”
Stewie apparently hung out w/ British actor Roger Moore, best known as being James Bond from 1973 to 1985 |
