Everyone is uncomfortable when a heat wave strikes Quahog. To make matters worse, a big box store (a - la Wal-Mart) sets up a new division in Quahog, which runs every other store out of business. Including the brewery. At first, Peter rallies up a gang to go against the the corporation, but once he enters inside the air-conditioned heaven he ends up getting a job there with Meg as his boss. Meanwhile, a car salesman talks Peter into buying a tank (yes, a tank) instead of car for Meg, which Brian and Stewie use to their advantage to take the big corporation down.

Walter Murphy who wrote the theme song for Family Guy also wrote the Disco anthem A Fifth of Beethoven the group skates to at the Roller Rink.
| This marks the first episode that the 'f' bomb is dropped on air. The Canadian airings of Family Guy had swearing in the hummer scene. "Those animals are so ****ing funny" It was not bleeped in Canada.
| The "Wanna Fight About It?!" guy meets his untimely doom in this episode after being run over by Peter's tank. It was mentioned by Seth himself in an earlier episodes commentary the he is really dead for good.

Goldman's Pharmacy and Clevelan's Deli are seen right next to each other in this episode, although this contradicts earlier episodes where Goldman's Pharmacy has been an individual store.
| In previous episodes where heat was a problem, such as "Brian: Portrait of a Dog", Brian has been seen panting. Panting is a way for dogs to cool off in the heat, since their bodies do not have sweat glands. However, Brian can be seen sweating in this episode. Which isn't possible.
