Meg goes for an internship at Quahog News 5 in order to get closer to her crush, Tom Tucker, but is disgusted when pervy class nerd, Neil Goldman, lands the internship as well. Meanwhile, Stewie fights back against a bully who stole his tricycle.
Neil Goldman is actually the name of a writer on the show. This is done again with Craig Hoffman later in the series.
We learn that Meg is allergic to peanuts in the episode.
Tom Tucker: And a bit of turmoil at the white house today when president Bush stuck a finger in an electrical socket. When asked about the incident, Bush responded 'That's where Dick Cheney told me leprechauns hide their gold'.
Diane Simmons: And in entertainment, Mary Tyler Moore is 64 years old today.
Tom Tucker: Really? 64?
Tom: Now I thought she was dead.
Diane: Nope, she's alive.
Tom: Fantastic!!! And now this...
Meg: I'm gonna go up to my room and eat a whole bag of peanuts! (Peter and Lois stare at her) I'm allegeric to peanuts! (Peter and Lois continue to stare) You don't know anything about me! (runs upstairs)
Peter: Jeez, who was that guy?
Stewie: Let me guess, you picked out yet another colorful box with a crank that I'm expected to turn and turn until OOP! big shock, a jack pops out and you laugh and the kids laugh and the dog laughs and I die a little inside.
Lois: What's going on down here?
Stewie: Oh, we're playing house.
Lois: That boy's all tied up.
Stewie: Roman Polanski's house
Chris: When I stick this army guy with the sharp bayonette up my nose, it tickles my brain. Hah hah hah ... ow. Oh, now I don't know math.
Chris: My name is Chris, I'm supposed to be on my best behavior tonight and not mention poo.....Oh God, what have I done!!!
Peter: The two of you will one day bless our home with the pitter patter of sweet little grandchildren as ugly as sin.
Meg: Oh my God, we're gonna die! There's so much of life I haven't experienced. I never even got the chance to be some drunk college guy's last resort.
Mort Goldman tells the story of how he and his wife had their first kiss on a "cold winter night at the age of 14". But, in another episode, they tell the story of how they met on a video dating service long after they were 14.
When Neil Goldman is narrating a scene from what is apparently season one, episode 18 of Star Trek the original series; the scene is actually from the 19th episode of season one. Also, Neil says that Kirk's stunt double is Fred Lubins, when the stunt doubles name for that particular scene was played by Dick Dial.
Peter: We all miss the News Meg, but Huey Lewis needs time to create, and we need to learn to be patient.
Huey Lewis is the lead singer of the Huey Lewis and the News, an 80's band.
Peter: It's so beautiful
