Now overweight and still unemployed, Peter chooses Fishing as his new career. But when the pickings are slim, Peter puts his house in debt to buy a boat he can use to hunt Daggermouth, a famous fish which would earn him a lot of cash. Meanwhile, Lois takes Meg to spring break and teaches her how to have a good time, a little too well.

| In this episode Peter begins his job as a fisherman.
| The fisherman who built Daggermouth says that he is going to get a cartoon deal with Nickelodeon. The fisherman was voiced by Brian Doyle-Murray, which is coincidental, because he also voices the Flying Dutchman on Spongebob Squarepants.

| Superfriends' Zan's superpower was the ability to transform into anything that was water-based, however Jana's superpower was the ability to transform into any animal. So, technically, she couldn't transform into a bucket.

When Peter is talking to "Wilson"; that scene is similar to a scene in the movie "Castaway". When a man is stranded on an island, and his only friend is a Volley Ball named Wilson.
