Johnny is driving down a street in a high-tech car, and complaining about the fact that he is a robot magnet because there is a Kree Sentry following him. The thing begins to shoot a laser at Johnny, and he accelerates even harder so that he can try to avoid the robot, but it continues to follow Johnny is pursuit. Johnny then begins to get warnings from Reed about not striking the robot until there is backup for him. This goes right over Johnny's head, and he turns into the Human Torch in order to prepare for battle. Johnny fliesthrough the sun roof of his car and up to the robot. However, due to his actions, the car hits the wall of a nearby building and explodes on impact. Reed, a witness to this, begins to wonder why Johnny didn't understand to not go after the robot, so Ben replies with a comment about Johnny having lost Reed when he said the word "don't." Reed gives another warning, but Johnny ignores it once more, and begins to attack the Kree Sentry, burning it with his flames. Though the robot is not destroyed, Johnny yet again attacks it using his flames, destroying it once and for all. After destroying the robot, Johnny begins to gloat about how he destroyed the robot as the rest of the Fantastic Four appear. Johnny suddenly disappears. Susan screams, worried about her brother, saying that the robot vaporized the Human Torch. Reed assures her that robot didn't vaporize him, it merely transported him. She doesn't find that reassuring, and faints.
Because of the case at hand, Reed declares that the Fantastic Four's scheduled appearance at the local Children's Hospital for a fundraiser needs to wait. Ben then tells the team members that he'll go, so Reed takes Susan back to the Baxter Building, so that the two of them can work out a way to find Johnny.
Johnny wakes up to what appears to be a completely isolated room, with a collar around his neck. He tries to remove the collar, but he has no success with it. Then, the room lights up and then several people appear around him, booing him as the room fully lights up. Ronan the Accuser reveals himself to Johnny, and he tells them that he is being held for crimes against the Kree Empire, and he will be judged by him. Johnny then turns into the Human Torch so that he can get himself out of this strange place. However, the collar around his neck stops him.
At the fundraiser, Ben is just about to give a speech that Reed had prepared for him. He begins to get the cards that have the speech on it, but as he bends down, he hears a tearing sound, and looks back to see that his pants had split. Due to his oversized fingers, he is unable to pick up the speech cards.
At the Baxter Building Reed is working on figuring out Johnny's location, with Susan pressuring him about finding her missing brother. Reed then discovers that Johnny is currently at the Central Park.
At Central Park, a huge force field appears.
Inside of the force field, Ronan states to Johnny that they have returned to Earth, the home planet of the accused. Ronan tells Johnny that it is here that he will be terminated.
The police and citizens of New York have now gathered around the force field. Reed and Susan arrive and Susan decides that she is going to blast her way into the force field, but Reed urges her to wait.
Inside, Johnny hears the sounds of his teammates trying to save him, and Ronan tells him that their powers are no match for the Kree technology, and he prepares to continue with the trial. Johnny manages to get the opportunity to have Reed Richards as his lawyer so they teleport Reed in. Johnny then informs Reed about the situation at hand, and then they prepare to move on with the case. Ronan then tells Reed that he has the opportunity to have two witnesses on Johnny's behalf.
Back at the fundraiser, Ben is entertaining the children by juggling them. He sets the children down and then is teleported away to appear as a witness.
Outside, Susan continues to attempt to break in through the force field, before she is teleported inside of the force field. Ben asks Reed if they should start to fight, and Reed tells Ben and Sue that they need to play along. Ronan then begins to show clips of the evidence at hand -- showing many instances where Johnny has been destroying Kree Sentry robots. Johnny apologizes, admitting that he didn't think before he destroyed the robot. Ronan argues that anyone who attacks the Kree Empire must be judged. Ben gets ready to defend Johnny, but Reed warns him that they are going to use their thoughts and feelings about Johnny against them. Susan and Ben both ignore Reed's warnings and clips of the two being mean to Johnny after he makes a stupid decision are shown. Ronan then tells Johnny that he has made his final decision, and he sends two mechanical lions to terminate him.
Johnny is in trouble now; the lions are coming after him. Reed, Susan, and Ben get near Johnny, ready to defend their teammate and friend. Ronan then decides that the Fantastic Four are now enemies of the Kree Empire. Reed asks Ronan why he came here and Ronan tells him that the Kree are there to conquer. While the others fight off Ronan and the mechanical lions, Johnny notices that one of the robot thrown into the crowd is ready to attack a Kree boy. Johnny saves him as Ronan fights the other members of the Fantastic Four. The crowd begins to cheer for Johnny, just before Ronan destroys the Fantastic Four. The Kree ruler, the Supermor, appears and tells Ronan that the humans should be spared... for the moment at least. Ronan is displeased, trying to persuade the Supermor to let him destroy the Fantastic Four. Tthe Supermor tells him that they might be useful against the Skrulls. He then suspends the trial and he, Ronan, the Kree spectators, and the energy field disappear, leaving the Fantastic Four there.
Back at home, Johnny apologizes to Reed and Susan for to his poor behavior. He then goes to visit Ben, who is playing video games. Ben accepts Johnny's apology, and as they leave, Johnny secretly puts a sign on Ben's back.
