Ben is cooking and having a pretty bad time with it, as Reed turned it into a “Super-grill.” Meanwhile Susan and Johnny talk about a man who is visiting Reed. Ben comes out of the kitchen, and the three decide that Susan should see what they are doing. Susan agrees and prepares to make the floor transparent. However, they don’t need to spy on Reed as the building begins to shake, telling them that something is wrong. The three heroes go up to Reed’s lad and they see Reed unconscious and they see the Incredible Hulk standing above him.
The Hulk goes after the team, and takes down The Thing. Then, the Hulk takes down Johnny and Susan. While the Hulk fights his teammates, Ben manages to get the Hulk out of the building, and they begin to fight outside. Reed wakes up and sends Sue to help Johnny and Ben fight off the Hulk. Johnny is about to get taken down by the Hulk, but Susan makes it so that Johnny is invisible. After Susan saves him, a military group focuses on the Incredible Hulk, and they render the Fantastic Four as being a complication. Susan fights off the Hulk as Reed comes to their rescue with a device that reverses the Hulk back into Bruce Banner.
In Reed’s lab, Reed tells the team that he and Bruce where both students together, and they where studying two different types of rays. Reed worked with Cosmic Rays while Bruce worked with gamma rays. However, a mix-up in Bruce’s experiment caused him to become the Incredible Hulk. The Hulk wakes up and apologizes to the team and he tells them that he turns into the Hulk based on anger. After Bruce tells the team why he came to Reed for help the military group returns and attacks the Baxter Building.
Agent Pratt manages to capture the Hulk, he sets his sights on the entire team, though Sue manages to save herself and the others from being placed in captivity. The team tries to stop the Helicopter that has Bruce in it without luck. The team then goes into pursuit of the helicopter as it arrives at their headquarters. The government launches interceptors after the team, though Johnny and Susan take them out. Reed and Ben then come to Bruce’s rescue, though Reed gets stunned. Ben finds himself fighting for Bruce’s freedom by himself, so he decides to enrage Bruce so that he has help. He does so with success, though the Hulk is after him instead. None the less, Ben uses Hulk to destroy the military base by getting him to follow him, and he uses him to destroy the machine. Hulk jumps away, leaving the Fantastic Four to clear up. Agent Pratt gets taken into custody, and the episode ends with Hulk jumping around in the desert.
