Episode Notes
Salis' appearance was based on first season's Director of Photography, Craig Burden, who had an Elvis-styled haircut. Crichton makes a reference to Elvis when he's talking to Salis.
David Kemper didn't tell Gigi Edgley unil the end of the season party that Chiana was originally going to die in this episode.
The seeds for this episode were planted during the filming of "PK Tech Girl" when the producers realized how effective a rematch between Rygel and his interrogator would be.
There was a common misconception during Chiana's early episodes that she was another blue alien. Her make-up has always been grey.
Gigi Edgley has said that she wishes she could redub the early episodes to maintain a continuity of accent for Chiana. She switches from Australian to British frequently.
Although she had been put into full make-up, Gigi was sent home on her first day of filming because the set where she was to perform blew up.
Gigi nominates this as one of her favorites episodes from the the first season, partly because she got a lot of opportunities to play, even though she was still finding her feet with the character.
This was writer Grant McAloon's first credited script for the show. McAloon was script editor on Farscape from "DNA Mad Scientist" to the end of the second season.
Tiriel Mora, who plays Saris, had previously worked with Anthony Simcoe on the Australian comedy feature The Castle, and went on to appear alongside Claudia Black in Queen of the Damned.
