According to Ben Browder, Crichton's statement about giving his arm to Zhaan is a deliberate referral back to Pilot's unwilling donation of his arm in Season 1's "DNA Mad Scientist".

Although she normally prefers to try to create tears naturally, Claudia Black used some menthol under her eyes to create Aeryn's involuntary response to her environment.

Jim Henson's Creature Shop supervisor Dave Elsey found inspiration in Edgar Allan Poe's Murders in the Rue Morgue as he designed the Keedva.

"Home on the Remains" was the only Farscape episode to receive an 18 certificate (the equivalent of an NC-17 rating in America) from the British Board of Film Censors.

John Brumpton originally gave B'Sogg an Australian aboriginal accent, but this was changed because it was too similar to an American southern accent.

Terry Ryan's costumes were inspired by nineteenth century Yukon miners during the Gold Rush.

Dave Elsey considers the scene in which B'Sogg's flesh melts as gory as the effects he created for Hellraiser.
