Episode Notes

Once again, the entire cityscape was created in the studios at Homebush Bay and by the computer wizards at Animal Logic. No shots were filmed on location.

American writer Clayvon C. Harris was previously responsible for the storyline for the third season Star Trek: Voyager episode "The Chute" before penning her only contribution to Farscape.

Director Ian Barry is no stranger to television science fiction, having helmed episodes of Time Trax and Early Edition. He splits his time between America and Australia, and followed Farscape with The Invisible Man.

Aeryn's memory of her mother's nighttime visit has been referred to since the first season, but this is the first time it has been portrayed.

Linda Cropper, who plays Xhalax Sun, is no stranger to prosthetic makeup. One of her first roles was as Australian opera singer Dame Nellie Melba, as whom she had to age from 17 to 70.

Linda Cropper previously appeared on Farscape under layers of makeup as one of the oozing Plokavians in Season 2's "The Ugly Truth."

Rebecca Gibney, who plays Sarova, is best known for her work as Jane Halifax on the long running Australian crime series "Halifax f.p." She guest starred on Time Trax in "The Cure," directed by Ian Barry.

Xena: Warrior Princess fans might recognize Sandy Winton, who plays Tolven, as he guest starred as Prince Morloch in the final season episode "Dangerous Prey."

The shape of the Kanvian Truth Seeker is partly based on lobsters and spiders because Jim Henson's Creature Shop supervisor Dave Elsey has a "mortal fear" of the creatures.

To demonstrate the various positions that the colarta could go through during its transformation, Dave Elsey prepared a series of small models for incoming director Ian Barry.
