Episode Notes
John Gregg, who plays the imposter Talyn, is a genre veteran, appearing as the ill-fated Lycett in cult hit Doctor Who's The Ark in Space, as well as genre series Doomwatch and Roar.

Both Raj Ryan (the Hotel owner) and Stephen Shanahan (Tenek) have worked on the Australian detective series Dogwoman, which features Magda Szubanski (Furlow) as a Jessica Fletcher-like housewife detective.

Puppeteer Mario Halouvas stepped up for his first major role as the Seer. Jim Henson's Creature Shop supervisor Dave Elsey was so impressed that he was eager to present Halouvas with another creation to work.

Executive Producer David Kemper has hinted that the Seer may know more about the dead Crichton than has so far been revealed.

Watch closely for a brief cameo by Thomas Holesgrove as a Diagnosian among the alien creatures on the planet's surface.

Claudia Black specifically asked producer David Kemper for a script she could "get her teeth into" as Aeryn, and worked extensively with writer Justin Monjo and director Rowan Woods on this episode.

Linda Cropper, who returns for her final appearance as Xhalax Sun, counts this as her favourite episode of the season, particularly praising its elements of Greek tragedy.

Rowan Woods deliberately fused design elements from the cult classic Blade Runner with a gothic designs to create the decaying atmosphere of Valdun.

Justin Monjo specifically asked to write the episode in which Aeryn has to come to terms with Crichton's death.

Stark was sent on his quest for Zhaan at the end of the episode to allow Paul Goddard to appear on stage at the Sydney Opera House.
