Episode Notes

Crichton refers to Minnie Pearl, a singer/performer on the TV show Hee Haw when Ben Browder was growing up. Minnie Pearl was famed for her hats.

Aeryn's reply yo Crichton's comment about Ahkna being scary - "It's the hat" - was an ad lib by Claudia Black.

David Kemper takes responsibility for this episode's title. Although he wanted it to be called "La La La La La La Bomba."

David Kemper argues that the nuclear explosion in the flower room was so far underground that it would not have devastated everything. After all, everyone on the surface wasn't killed by the underground nuclear tests during the 1950's.

The police station interrogation scene between Crichton and Scorpius was deliberately given a "gunmetal" look to emphasize the difference between Crichton's imagination and Katratzi.

Director Rowan Woods made these sequences a homage to TV police dramas like NYPD Blue.

Francesca Buller's role as Ahkna would have continued into the fifth season of Farscape. There were also plans to bring back some of her earlier creations: the bone-crunching M'Lee from "Bone to Be Wild" and the untrustworthy Raxil from "Scratch 'n' Sniff."

The BBC suggested some alternative titles for the trilogy before deciding not to use one at all - including "Another Fine Mess."

Costume supervisor Lou Elsey is only 5'5" tall, while Duncan Clarke (Staleek) is 6'5". Lou Elsey had to stand on a box to work on Duncan's face when he was wearing his high heels as the Emperor.
