Ben Browder (John Crichton) is the only actor to appear in all 88 episodes of the series. In second place is Lani Tupu (Voice of Pilot/Captain Bialar Crais) who appeared in 85 of the 88 episodes. He did not appear in "What Was Lost (1): Sacrifice", "What Was Lost (2): Resurrection" and "Lava's a Many Splendored Thing".

The original title for this episode was "No Turning Back." It was changed to "Bad Timing" after the series was cancelled. This was one of the few amendments to the episode made as a result of the cancellation.

The Qujagan pilot was completely a creation of Jim Henson's Creature Shop. If the race had reappeared in the fifth season, some of them would have been animatronic, and others played by humans.

The radio voice of the Qujagan Pilot's superior is provided by Michael Feranda, also knows as "Bubba," who was the First Assistant Director on many Farscape episodes.

Kent McCord filmed his side of the telephone conversation during his visit to Australia to film "Kansas" and "Terra Firma." Ben Browder's part was filmed nearly three months later.

The final scenes were recorded on the water near the studio. The nearby apartment blocks were removed from the background by the special effects department.

For only the second time in the show's history, the usual end music is not played at the end of the episode. The silence at the end of "Bad Timing" was to mark the show's passing.

"Bad Timing" was broadcast in the US on March 21, 2003 on the Sci-Fi Channel. By the time "Bad Timing" was broadcast, a worldwide "Save Farscape" fan campaign was already in full swing.

Brian Henson credits "the tireless, unwavering efforts of Farscape fans" with motivating the production of Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars. This two-part mini-series incorporated plot elements from the never-filmed fifth season and resolved many of the unanswered questions remaining from "Bad Timing." Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars aired on the Sci-Fi Channel on October 17 and 18, 2004.
