With the elimination of Silvia Arguello last week, Team Jessica: Hunter Bell, and JesseRay Vasquez & Garrett Gerson, Team John: Cassandra Hobbins and Team Nicole: Daniel Silverstein remain in the competition to show mentors John Varvatos, Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson that they can sell to all three buyers. Tonight is Now-And-Then and the designers are going to have to make an old style fresh again. The pressure is on the designers because the finale is next week. John says that the whole goal is to get to the end and it is a fight for their lives.
In the studio the designers get to work. Hunter says that they are down to the best and she has to get shake the mental block she has. She talks to Cassandra and Cassandra says that Hunter has to get over herself. Daniel walks up to Cassandra and she says that she is designing a dress from the 60’s style. Daniel says that he is the best selling designer and that he needs to make sure that he is the best this time. JesseRay & Garrett work on their design and they are looking to the 50’s style. Garrett says that their goal is to win it for his grandmother who gave them money to do something big. Daniel is inspired by the 60’s and Nicole comes up to him and says that the design is very commercial. Hunter is taking her inspiration from the 50’s and is wondering if she has to overshoot it in order to be saved. Jessica tells Hunter that leather is a little much and says that she doesn’t want to overdo it. She tells Hunter that what she has done is amazing.
The designers continue to work on the designs and JesseRay & Garrett show Jessica their design. Jessica says that she hopes that they can keep up the success from last week. Jessica tells them to pick a strong color. Cassandra says that she wants to make John proud. John comes over to help her and says that she has to be psyched about this and says that she needs to focus on delivering perfection. She is determined to get to the final three. Daniel says that if he were to make it to the Final Three, it would be a validation for his hard work. Cassandra says that Daniel is inexperienced. Hunter wishes that she was confident like Daniel and she worries that her design is not the best. JesseRay & Garrett work on fitting their dress and Daniel doesn’t think that they are collection designers. Cassandra realizes that someone threw away her pattern and she has to start from scratch again.
The outfits come out. First up is Team John. Cassandra Hobbins’s “Column Dress” comes out and Nicole loves the dress. Jessica says that the material is beautiful. Her “Shirtdress” comes out and they feel that it is a little snug. Cassandra comes out and John says that she has proved that she deserves to be in the competition. Jessica says that she did a great job. Nicole says that she is a star tonight. She turns to face the buyers, For Cassandra’s “Shirtdress”: No offers from Saks or Express, but Macy’s gets it for $50,000. Caprice says that it was a nice piece. For Cassandra’s “Column Dress”: No offers from Saks or Macy’s, but Express gives $50,000. Erika says that she had to have the dress.
Next up is Team Nicole. Daniel Silverstein’s “Short Sleeve Top” comes out and John feels like it is a little round. His “Pencil Skirt” comes out and John says that the skirt is gorgeous. Daniel comes out and Nicole says that he is a risk-taker and says that is what a star is. Jessica says that the skirt is great and says that it was creative. John says that he was creative. He turns to face the buyers. For Daniel’s “Pencil Skirt”: No Offers from Macy’s or Express, but Saks buys it for $50,000. Terron says that he did a nice job. For his “Short Sleeve Top”: No Offers from Macy’s or Express, but Saks buys it for $75,000.
Last up is Team Jessica. JesseRay Vasquez & Garrett Gerson’s “Halter Top and Short” comes out and Nicole says that the waist needs to be higher. Their “Sheath Dress” comes out and Jessica says that it is sexy. JesseRay & Garrett come out and Jessica says that she loved it. John says that they are moving in a good direction. Nicole says that the dresses were beautiful. They turn to face the buyers. For their “Sheath Dress”: No Offers from Macy’s or Express, but Saks buys it for $55,000. For their “Halter Top and Short”: No Offers from Saks or Express, but Macy’s buys it for $70,000. Caprice says that it will be great in their store.
The last designer for Team Jessica is Hunter Bell. Her “Fit and Flare Dress” comes out and John loves the dress. Her “Lace Dress” comes out and John says that any of the stores can buy that. Hunter comes out and Jessica says that the blue was gorgeous. John says that the lace was nice. Nicole says that she did a great job. Hunter turns to face the buyers. For her “Fit and Flare Dress”: Express, Saks and Macy’s bid and Saks wins it for $200,000. Teron says that it was a home run. For her “Lace Dress”: No Offers from Macy’s but Saks and Express have a bidding war. It is up to Hunter to pick. She decides to go with Express.
The designers are backstage while the buyers talk about who their Final Three are going to be. They feel that they need to find the three who are going to show their best. The designers come out and the first designer who has secured a spot in the finale is Hunter Bell. The second spot goes to Cassandra Hobbins. The final designer through to the Finale is Daniel Silverstein. This means that JesseRay Vasquez & Garrett Gerson are headed home. In total, they sold $695,000 worth of clothing.
