Episode Summary

The crew of Serenity find a dead spaceship at drift and takes the only surviving crew member aboard. Then an Alliance ship comes along whose commander is looking for the two fugitives, Simon and River.

This episode was supposed to be episode #4, but FOX reshuffled the episode order and aired this one as #2.

Ratings: 3.6/7

This is the first time viewers know where the ship's name, Serenity, comes from (unless you watch the episodes in the DVD Box Set, which features the episodes in the real order). Mal named the ship Serenity based upon a war he fought in Serenity Valley.
