At home, Nicole makes love to her boyfriend while Charlie sleeps in her room upstairs.
Mark and his partner Demetri Noh are running surveillance on terrorists, including their leader Alda Hertzog, and Demetri is talking about his girlfriend and the song they're going to choose for their first dance at their wedding. Mark focuses on his newspaper.
Aaron goes to work at his job in water and power and climbs up a pole.
Olivia goes to work at the hospital.
Mark and Demetri spot their targets going on the move and call in their backup. They follow the criminals but are spotted. Mark chases them through traffic while Demetri calls in air support.

Mark and Demetri close in on their target…
Mark has a vision of standing at a board, drinking heavily and going through a trail of events trying to figure out who else knows. Two men with rifles come into his office and prepare to shoot him.

Mark tries to deal with the crises as a gas tanker explodes nearby. He looks out across the city to discover dozens of disasters have occurred. Demetri calls him over and they compare notes and realize they both blacked out. As they tend to the people injured in car crashes, they realize that 911 won't be answering.
Bryce hears people in the surf calling for help and goes to help.
Nicole runs upstairs to check on the child, Charlie, and the girl says she had a bad dream that there are "no more good days."
Mark and Demetri spot the SUV they were following and take the terrorists captive. They demand to know if they set off their weapon, but the terrorists say that they were blacked out. One of them had a dream of horses. People turn to the FBI agents for information and Mark tries to calm them down as best they can. On the radio, they hear that people across the U.S. are dealing with the same thing and there's no immediate help coming. They can't reach Olivia or Demetri's fiancée Zoe, and Demetri tells Mark to go on his foot and check on his family. The streets are filled with chaos. Looters are stealing what they can and people are panicking. A kangaroo hops down the street past Mark. He goes to an electronic store where people are watching TVs showing news broadcasts confirming that everyone worldwide blacked out at the same time.
Olivia reaches Mark on his cell phone and confirms that Charlie is okay. She explains that her patient died when they blacked out in the middle of surgery. She cuts off to tend to a child, who knows her name despite the fact they've never met. Olivia tries to save him and they manage to stabilize him.
Mark gets back to headquarters and meets with his superior, Stan Wedeck, but they haven't come up with any answers yet. Wedeck calls a meeting and notes that everyone was unconscious for approximately two minutes. There were hundreds of air crashes, including Air Force 2. Mark is the first one to bring up that he had a dream that he was somewhere else, and the other agents confirm they had similar experiences. Mark insists that it wasn't a hallucination, but that his consciousness went somewhere else. He remembers that he saw a calendar April 29, 2010, at 10 p.m. Everyone else confirms that they're hallucinations were of the same time and date.
Demetri interrogates the terrorists, including their leader TTT, who insists they weren't responsible. Mark comes in and checks with him, and an Agent Gough comes over. He says he was in London and his vision was eight hours in the future. He was meeting with the liaison in Scotland Yard, Fiona Banks. They call Fiona Banks and she confirms her vision was of the two of them together when a bird flew into the window and interrupted them.
As the news continues to come in, doctors determine that the brains of people being scanned during the FlashForward experienced a "waking moment" of the same time period. As one of the newscasters mentions a grand mosaic, Mark remembers that his investigation was named "Mosiac." He tells Wedeck of what he saw but admits none of it makes sense. Demetri says that he didn't experience anything during the blackout, and wonders what they're going to do with JJJ. Agent Janis Hawk says that she was undergoing a sonogram, but she's not currently pregnant or has a girlfriend. Wedeck says he was in a meeting: he was actually on the toilet reading the paper. He remembers two of the stories he read. Janis suggests they create a web site and see if they can find any patterns. Mark remembers that in his vision, that's what he was doing. They set up an inter-agency investigation and Wedeck puts Mark, Demetri, and Janis in charge.
As Mark puts together his board, he remembers the name Gibbons and something about a blue hand in Baltimore. He also remembers wearing a friendship bracelet, and people coming to kill him. One of them had a tattoo with three stars. Demetri is worried that he doesn’t remember anything and wonders if he might be dead.
Mark goes home and talks to Nicole, who wonders if God caused the blackout to punish them.
At the hospital, Olivia checks on her patient. His mother died during the blackout and they haven't been able to find his father, Lloyd Simcoe. Bryce admits that he was thinking about suicide, but saw his future where he's alive. Now he believes he has hope. Olivia admits that in her vision, she saw the end of her vision.
Mark meets with Aaron, who says he saw himself drinking heavily in the future. Aaron tries to reassure him and says that the visions are fantasy until they happen. Aaron admits he has the opposite problem: in his flashforward, his daughter Tracy is alive. He admits that while Mark wishes his future doesn't come true, Aaron wants his to occur.
Mark is working in the garage when Olivia returns home. They tuck in Charlie and go to bed. Mark talks to Olivia about the song they danced to at their wedding and she asks what he saw. Mark explains about his working the case and she wonders if he saw anything else. He remembers drinking heavily. Olivia says she doesn't want to talk about it and he doesn't want to know. Mark persists and she finally admits she was with another man, one she's never seen before. Mark insists that just because they saw things from their supposed future doesn't mean they happened.
At the hospital, Lloyd arrives to visit his son Ryan. Lloyd is the man in Olivia's vision.
Mark sits outside in the dark when Charlie comes out. She gives him the friendship bracelet that he saw in his flashforwad and Mark holds her tightly.
