Demetri gets a call from the intelligence agent, who tells him she saw a report where he is shot on March 15. The briefing only reveals that he was shot three times in the chest. The woman hangs up before Demetri can learn more from her.

At Quale Prison in Munich, Germany, a prisoner, Herr Rudolf Geyer, discusses what his guard, Schultz, saw in his flashforward. The guard says it was an ordinary day and asks what Geyer saw. Geyer tells him he saw something that will assure his release.

Charlie Bedford is watching cartoons and eating breakfast as Olivia tries to call Nicole. She doesn't get an answer and tells Mark they'll have to find someone to cover. Aaron comes in and Mark claims that he called him to repair their phone. When Aaron points out that lying to Olivia isn't a good idea, Mark tells him what Charlie said about D. Gibbons being a bad guy. He wonders if the masked gunmen he saw in his future might come after his family. Aaron tells him to catch the men first and do whatever it takes.

On a plane in Seattle, Zoey Andata is waiting to depart and talks with an airline executive who explains that the planes are finally lifting off and all of the CEOs are flying on a plane to promote the event.

Demetri asks Agent Gough to trace the phone call.

Mark arrives at the office and goes over various reports mailed in on theories for what caused the flashforward. One of them is from Geyer, and Mark remembers that Geyer, an ex-Nazi, was on the board. His report mentions Mark by name and Geyer claims he knows the significance of the exact 137 minutes of the flashforward. Mark takes the information to Stan, who isn't happy that Mark is flying to Germany when they have so much else on their plate. Mark figures that it's important and convinces Stan to let him go while other agents continue to track Suspect Zero.

Demetri goes to the airport with flowers and meets Zoey. They kiss and she starts to tell him her flashforward. Demetri stalls, saying they should go to a hotel.

Aaron goes to a bar and orders soda water from the bartender. She's his ex-wife, Kate, and he tells her that he saw their daughter Tracy. Kate thinks he might have seen a glimpse of Heaven and doesn't believe him. She tells him that she saw her doing the same thing she is now: working in the same bar at the same job. Kate tells Aaron to let it go but Aaron insists that Tracy is alive and she needs them. She tries to throw him out and Aaron asks her to sign an affidavit to exhume Tracy's remains. She refuses and Aaron insists that he'll find Tracy no mater what.

After sex, Demetri and Zoey talk and she says that they were on a beach after their wedding… together. Demetri lies and says he saw her there in his flashforward. She figures they can let the future proceed just like it's supposed to.

Mark and Janis arrive at Quale Prison and the agent in charge, Stefan Kreiger, warns them that Geyer is still a dangerous man despite his age. They meet and Geyer offers to exchange his information in return for a pardon and a ticket to America. The Nazi warns that he has nothing to lose. Outside, Mark and Janis discuss the situation and she's reluctant to grant the pardon. Mark agrees that Geyer makes her sick, but points out that he's on his way out and wonders if it justifies the knowledge they could acquire.

Olivia and Felicia Wedeck meet for lunch and discuss their husbands. Felicia notes that her only child's room was empty because he's gone off to college, and there was a new younger boy in the room that she's never seen before. Olivia doesn't tell her that she saw herself with another man.

Geyer offers to give them one piece of information to verify before he tells them everything else. Mark agrees and Geyer says that he knows that the flashforward lasted 137 seconds. He talks of the Kabbalah and how he learned it while working in the concentration camps. Geyer talks of secret signs, and comments that Janis wears her ring the same way that homosexuals do in Europe. He moves on and shows that in Hebrew, the letter values of the word "Kabbalah" add up to 137. Mark demands substantive information but Geyer refuses to say more. He reveals that in his flashforward, he saw himself being repatriated, and he obtained his freedom by sharing a second piece of information. Geyer explains that he was in an American airport and Jerome Murphy was the customs official that processed his papers. He saw himself mentioning Mark's name and saying he has a murder to thank for his freedom. Geyer's lawyer says that they can check with Murphy and confirm Geyer's accuracy. Mark agrees to check but clearly isn't comfortable.

Aaron calls Mark and asks his help in getting Tracy's body exhumed and confirm the corpse is who the authorities claim. He admits that Kate didn't sign the affidavit and needs Mark to push it through. Mark wonders what Aaron's reaction will be if they confirm it is Tracy, but Aaron insists it's a leap of faith and wonders if Mark has ever taken a similar leap.

Mark calls Demetri for help with the affadavit but Demetri says he's busy. He tells Stan that he hasn't been able to find a Jerome Murphy working in an airport, and Stan suggests he check applicants. When Demetri admits he's not in the game, his boss tells him to shape up. Later, Demetri goes to the house of an applicant named Jerome Murphy and hears loud music. He circles around to the back and finds Murphy dancing in his underwear. Murphy is happy to hear he's going to have a job and confirms that he saw the same thing that Geyer did. Murphy recognizes Geyer and confirms what the prisoner said he saw and heard. As Demetri leaves, he trips over a bong and Murphy asks him not to tell anyone. Demetri considers whether he can change the future.

Janis is drinking at the hotel and tells Mark that he needs to own up to what they're doing. She wonders if there has to be some people they won't deal with. Mark asks her if she's ever taken a leap of faith, and admits he's taking a leap based on what he saw in his vision. Stan calls Mark to tell him that Demetri confirmed Geyer's flashforward. He warns Mark that they'd better get used to making decisions based on what will happen.

Demetri goes the affidavit and goes with Aaron to Tracy's grave. Aaron wonders at what he's doing.

Gough tells Demetri that he was unable to trace the call and the person who called knew how to cover their tracks.

Mark goes to see Geyer and prepares to free him over Kreiger's protests. Mark assures him that both governments have signed off on Geyer's release. Geyer tells him that after his blackout, he looked out in the courtyard and saw hundreds of dead crows. He admits he had no idea why the blackout lasted for 137 seconds, but the dead crows must mean something. Geyer gives Mark a book on birds of North America and says that now it's up to Mark. Kreiger promises that Geyer will stay in jail but the Nazi says that his lawyer will assure that he's released.

Upon returning home, Mark finds Olivia in bed and kisses her. He admits his trip went badly and wonders how people can live in the now given what happened. Olivia kisses him and pulls him into the bed.

The next day, Kate comes in and finds Aaron sitting at the bar. He admits she was right: the remains were those of their daughter Tracy. Aaron apologies for not listening and she hugs him, saying its okay.

Stan gives a eulogy for the eight agents that they lost during the blackout. He says that things will get better and a new sun will rise. Stan talks of how they're all prophets, and God loves all of his profits no matter how they suffered. In the crowd, Felicia sees the boy that she saw in her flashfoward, sitting with one of the agent's widows.

Afterward, the agents hold a wake for their friends. As they talk about how there are similar ceremonies all over the world, Mark gets an idea and asks Janis for her help. As they go, Zoey comes over and hugs Demetri, and repeats the pickup line she claims he used on her. She wonders if he's okay and he says that it's time they get married.

Back at the office, Mark goes through the book that Geyer gave him and has Janis check bird population trends for the last year. It turns out that they seriously dipped on the day of the blackout, and crows died all over the world. Mark has Janis bring up similar incidents and determines there was another incident in Somalia on 1991. The CDC investigated and determined that the locals in the area blacked out.

Somalia, 1991

The animals in the area become restless and crows gather ion the sky. A native boy in the field watches as they die by the thousands, and then runs to the nearby town where the people have blacked out. He looks up in the sky and sees a huge tower reaching into the sky and a glowing cloud surrounding it.
