On a train bound for Los Angeles, Simon is in the bar compartment and tells a woman, Camille, that he knows what caused the flashforward. When she expresses doubt, he invites her to do an Internet search for geniuses who are quantum physicists. His name comes up, convincing her, and he flirts with her and invites her back to his sleeper car. When she declines until he gives her the real explanation, he offers to walk her through the experiment involving Schrödinger's cat.
At the hospital, Olivia and Bryce receive a gunshot victim: Janis Hawk.

Mark reassures her that he's fine, but Olivia insists that they have to focus on today and it's all they have.
Demetri and Gough go to the morgue to talk to the coroner, Dewey, about the two men that Janis killed. They have no ID and no fingerprints or dental records on file, just like the killers in D.C. Gough asks if Demetri's okay and notes that he put himself on Mosaic. Demetri notes that Gough has been upset as well and suggests they either talk about their feelings or work on the case. As Dewey goes over the body with a UV scanner, Demetri notices that both killers have a blue hand tattoo and that was one of the clues on Mark's Mosaic board, and it was connected to Baltimore.

Back at the L.A. FBI headquarters, Gough suggests talking to the Asian expert but Demetri figures it's a dead end. He believes that the fact they were attacked after Mark went public with what they know is no coincidence.
Olivia tests Janis' mental faculties and she's in good enough condition to joke. Afterward, Olivia apologizes for not being there for Halloween and Mark assures her he'll take pictures of Charlie.
Demetri suggests that check out Baltimore Street, five miles from where Janis was attacked. He believes that since the killers with the blue hand were in L.A., they should investigate Baltimore St. first before checking out all of Baltimore on the East Coast. Gough points out that Demetri must believe in the visions, and Demetri admits it's complicated. He figures that since they don't have any real leads, Mark's vision is all they have.
Mark gets Charlie ready to go trick-or-treating and Nicole and Aaron note that he doesn't have a costume. He explains that he's been busy but Charlie finally convinces him to go out. As they walk down the street, a kangaroo hops by.
Lloyd comes to Dylan's room and discovers that his son is gone.

Mark calls out to them and they run away, and he runs after them.
Gough realizes that the hand on the stop sign is pointing in a specific direction.
Mark chases the three men into a cemetery and tackles one of them. He discovers it's a teenager who simply bought the mask, and panicked when Mark yelled. He gets a call from Nicole and says he'll be right there.
Demetri and Gough drive in the direction the hand is pointing and Demetri realizes it had three fingers and they've driven three blocks. They spot another hand with one finger pointing in a different direction.
Mark arrives home and assures Nicole that she did the right thing. She's called Lloyd, who is on his way over. Mark tries to talk to Dylan and find out how he got there from the hospital. Dylan remembers his flashforward where he was in the house with Charlie, who said it was his house as well as hers. He remembers the address because it was on a label on the refrigerator. Charlie comes in and casually talks with Dylan, and Mark realizes that they know each other from their flashforwards. Lloyd arrives thanks Mark for taking care of his son. Mark begins sniping at Olivia about Lloyd, who insists she doesn't like him. He notes that Olivia said that Dylan wasn't on her rotation but her name was on Dylan's medical band, and Olivia explains that her boss transferred her back. Mark accuses her of hiding the information and bringing Lloyd into their home, and wants to know if he's been talking to Lloyd at work. He demands that she tell him the truth and Olivia ask him if he has been. She points out that all the patterns he followed when he was drinking are back, and asks if he's hiding anything from her. Mark finally admits to her that he was drinking again in his flashforward, and asks her not to condemn him for something he hasn't done. Olivia points out that's what he's doing, and that his drinking problem is real. She refuses to go through the lack of trust, and they don't trust each other. When he reminds her what she said earlier about living in the moment, Olivia wonders if it's possible now and then turns and walks away.
