All three persons were using drugs and alcohol. The three people are Jason Martinez, 37, married with three children. The woman is Diana Davis, no next of kin. The last one is Ian Rutherford, 25, reported missing from a cargo vessel docked in Long Beach. Al knows all the details since it's the case he was checking with Fiona in London in his flashforward.

She explains that Rutherford disappeared off a cargo ship two weeks ago and she knew about the case from her flashforward. Demetri checks the visions to Mosaic and confirmed they were all ghosts: people who didn't see anything in their flashforwards. None of them believe it's a coincidence. Demetri shows them the web site, which uses the blue hand as its logo. Stan tells them to figure out who they are and shut them down. Dr. Maurice Reynaud is hosting a meeting in Los Angeles. A voice recording at the web site says to go downtown and check the time.
Later, al and Fiona go over the file on Rutherford. Al remembers all the information in the file from their shared flashforward. Fiona apologizes, saying she didn't expect to be working on the case so soon. Al notes that everything seems to be falling into place and Fiona wonders why he remembers so much in the dossier when she only remembers Rutherford's name and the bird hitting the window. She remembers looking at the injured bird on the pane and wanting to end its pain. However, there was nothing she could do stop its pain. She asks him what the phone call in the flashforward was about. Al remembers he was talking to his attorney, but doesn't tell Fiona that he said "I killed her." Instead he lies and says everything was fine.
That night, Zoey returns home and Demetri tells her that he's working late and offers to pick up some cinnamon rolls. Zoey insists that his excuse isn't good enough and wants to know why. She insists that it's unfair for him to be ignoring her since the Blackout and wants him to be honest about what's going on in his life. They're taken to an empty antechamber and an elderly man, Romanchak, comes out of the next room. He puts a gun down on a table and asks them who is going to play. When they hesitate, Romanchak puts the gun beneath his jaw and pulls the trigger. Nothing happens and he asks them again who is going to play. Al grabs the gun and does the same thing and nothing happens. When Demetri doubts if there are bullets in the gun, Romanchak reveals there's one bullet in the cylinder. He gives the bullet to Al and tells him it's the ticket in to the Blue Hand. As he goes into the club, Mark wonders if Al has a death wish, and Al tosses him the bullet saying "not today." He explains that he saw himself alive in six months, so he can't die now.
Inside the club, they ask for Reynaud and the bartender tells them there's a different Reynaud every night and they'll have to wait. Willingham comes to see Aaron that night and says he didn't feel right leaving things as they were earlier. He thinks that Aaron deserves to know the truth about what he saw in his flashforward. The men opened fired a rocket into the humvee as Willingham leaped clear. He went back to check on her and discovered she was dead, but had to run when the enemy opened fire.
At the club, people are undergoing various death experiences and Demetri points out that none of them have anything to lose because they're going to die sometimes in the future. An alarm goes off and everyone starts chanting "Reynaud." Reynaud comes in, his hands painted blue, and a woman says that the blue hands represent a portal, and an acceptance of the inevitable. The man takes out a gun and prepares to shoot himself, and Mark tackles him. FBI agents burst in and Reynaud insists that he wants it to end, but Mark says not today.
At headquarters, the agents interrogate Reynaud and note that he's responsible for Raynaud's Phenomena, known as "Blue Hands." And that Raynaud died in 1881. The man they have is Jeff Slingerland, a former teacher of American History. After the Blackout, he embraced the identity of Reynaud. Mark asks where they find the ghosts and Slingerland says that the FBI finds them via the Mosaic site and then the Reynauds get the names from there. Demetri shows him a photo of one of Janis' attackers. Slingerland tells them he doesn't care because everything they've all seen is going to happen, including the conversation. Al wonders what happens if he's wrong, but Slingerland says they can't escape what's coming.
Al goes to see Fiona as she packs to go back to her hotel. He invites her to join him for a supper of dirty rice. She declines the invitation due to jet-lag and Al starts to go. Then he asks what happens if they tape the window so the bird doesn't crash into it, but she figures that it would just crash into a different window. Al suggests that it would be worth a shot.
Mark and Demetri discuss what they've learned from Slingerland and Demetri admits at least he doesn't have to deal with the uncertainty. Mark asks what he plans to do on March 15 and tells him to fight it. Demetri finally admits that everything has come true but Mark doesn't believe it. His partner insists that Raynaud was right and there's nothing they can do to escape what's coming.

Demetri returns home with cinnamon rolls and tells Zoey that he loves her. He admits he didn't know what to do and finally tells her that he lied about being with her in the flashforward. Demetri admits that he only saw darkness because he's going to be dead. He talks about meeting people just like him at the club, people just waiting to die, and insists he wants to be there with her. Zoey reminds him of what she saw and that she knows he was there, and she thinks he made a mistake. Demetri insists that he's sure but she tells him not to give up hope. She believes that since they have two conflicting visions, they can choose which one they have. She chooses hope, Demetri agrees, and they embrace.
The next day, Aaron calls Willingham to see him at the company and explains that he's spent the last few weeks tortured by what he saw. Nicole visits Bryce and admires his paintings, and Bryce insists he's trying to find the woman in his flashforward. He knows that he loved her, but doesn't know where to find her. Nicole suggests that he put the woman's drawing up on Mosaic.
Al comes to work the next day and leaves an envelope addressed to Demetri on the agent's desk. He goes past Mark and Demetri, who ask if he'll be at the meeting. He tells Demetri to make sure the envelope gests into the hands of the right people. At the meeting, Mark insists that the people are just nihilists, not dangerous, and there's nothing they can threaten Reynaud with. Demetri opens the envelope and finds a note from Al to Celia and another one to Demetri saying there's always a way out. Demetri reads the note to Celia.
Al takes the elevator to the roof as he remembers his flashforward. In it, a man tells Al that they took a woman off of life support an hour ago and she's gone. Her children will have to be placed in foster care. Al wonders if it's his fault and the man assures him that Celia's death was an accident. The agent insists that it was his fault that she's dead.
In the conference room, Demetri reads the note to Celia and tells everyone to stop. They run to the roof to find Al standing on the edge. They try to stop him, saying they can find Celia and protect her. Al doesn't believe it and says that if he's not there, then they can all change things. He believes that he's found a way to change the game, and then turns and jumps.
