<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
In an office in Hong Kong, Demetri's mystery woman is watching A Christmas Carol. Taped to her window are a series of clippings, notes, and photos, similar to Mark's Mosaic board. A photo of Demetri is presented with the note A561984 fastened beneath it.

Mark and Demetri arrive in Hong Kong and Mark confirms that Demetri's called was Iranian with an English accent. He assures his friend that they're going to go all the way to find the caller. As they go through the terminal, Mark gets a call on his cell phone but ignores it. Marshall Vogel, the FBI liaison officer, comes up behind Mark and tells him it's Stan and he should answer it. He warns them that Immigration flagged them as soon as they arrived, and that they're intruding on sovereign Chinese territory and should go home. Mark refuses to back down and finally takes the call from Stan. Stan is less than thrilled that they disobeyed a direct order. Mark lies and says he lied to Demetri and Stan okayed the trip, and then hangs up. he explains to Demetri that if things go wrong, Mark's claim puts him in the clear.

Stan angrily smashes in his TV, and then listens to a broadcast from Palo Alto. Gordon Myhill, scientist and director of the National Linear Accelerator Project. He informs the press that they have important information about the Blackout. Backstage, Simon tells Lloyd to stick to the talking points and avoid parading his guilty conscience in front of the world. He accuses Lloyd of feeling guilty because his wife died during the Blackout and refuses to let Lloyd drag him down with him. Myhill introduces Simon and Lloyd.

Across the world, everyone watches as Lloyd explains that they tried to recreate the energy levels that accompanied the Big Bang, but on a controlled scale. He tells the world that they were performing an experiment when the Blackout occurred. Simon leaps in and insists that there was no way they could have foreseen the results, and the risk is part of standard scientific experimentation.

In Hong Kong, Demetri wonders if the announcement means that the Mosaic investigation is closed. Mark isn't convinced that Lloyd caused the Blackout.

As Myhill and Simon tried to calm the reporters, Lloyd steps in and offers his condolences to those harmed during the Blackout, and points out his own wife was killed. He also insists that the Blackout can't happen again because they're shutting down the project. A reporter grabs a gun, opens fire on the podium, and screams that they killed her family. Lloyd gets offstage and Simon warns him that he's on his own now, and refuses to take blame for the Blackout until it's empirically proven. Simon tells Lloyd that if he doesn’t agree, then it's war between them.

Janis comes in and notices Stan's broken TV. He tells her to get the NLAP scientists in immediately for debriefing. Lloyd and Simon have both disappeared since the press conference. Janis recognizes Lloyd's name from the hospital when she was there for her gunshot wound. Stan tells her to stake out the hospital and approach Lloyd on her own to find out what he knows. As she goes, Stan admits that he destroyed the TV after he heard from Mark and Demetri.

Zoey tries to call Demetri's parents and ask them to attend the wedding. She leaves a message on their voice mail saying that she saw them there in her flashforward and believes that their attendance will assure it comes true. After she hangs up, one of her co-workers asks if she's going to the memorial for Joyce, another co-worker. She assures him she'll be there.

In Hong Kong, Mark and Demetri investigate the three-block radius within Audio Forensics managed to place the call. As they walk, Demetri explains he calls the mystery woman Eartha because she sounds like Eartha Kitt. They check out Persian shops in the area but they're closed for now and they plan to come back the next morning.

Bryce is working the night shift at the hospital when he notices Janis watching. She offers to leave if he gives her Lloyd's phone number. He refuses and asks how she's doing. Janis says that she's not doing well enough to have a baby, and tells him about her flashforward. Bryce notes that she'll become pregnant in January based on what the sonographer told her, and tells her not to give up.

Stan is watching pundits talk about whether the LAP should be tried for all of the deaths when he gets a call and is informed he has a visitor. He turns and finds Simon, who claims that what they did wasn't crime even if they are proven to be responsible. Simon explains that Lloyd forced the situation, and he wants access to their Mosaic information to help determine who did cause the Blackout. Stan is skeptical but Simon warns him that Washington will shut off Mosaic funding if they're convinced NLAP is responsible. Stan tells him to come back in the morning and he'll show Simon something, and they'll deal from there. Simon accepts his offer.

When Lloyd comes to get Dylan out of the hospital, Janis approaches him and offers protection. Lloyd figures he needs to get Dylan out before anyone else connects him to the hospital and tells her to leave them alone.

The next morning, Mark and Demetri go to the Iranian restaurant and play a tape of the woman's voice for the owner, Samad. He claims he doesn't recognize the voice and goes to get them dessert. Mark and Demetri realize he's lying and Demetri makes sure no one comes in while Mark has Samad sit with him. He explains that it's a matter of life and death and Samad will be sorry if he doesn't say what he knows. Mark describes a similar situation with another Iranian and how the U.S. government held him for two years in secret detention.

Samad gives up the name of the woman, Nhadra Udaya, and the dim sung restaurant where she eats. As they go there, Demetri asks why Mark talked to Samad on his own, and Mark admits that he wants to protect Demetri if they have to get their hands dirty.

Stan and Janis show Simon the information they have on the towers. Simon recognizes them as pulse lasers that he designed for a plasma afterburner. He insists that the lasers haven't been built, but Janis confirms that it's a real photograph. Stan confirms that Simon came up with the idea in 1992… and they tell him the photo is from 1991. When they realize that whoever built it would have made a fetish out of his anonymity, Janis brings out the file on Deacon Gibbons. They show him the composite and describe what Gibbons has been doing, but Simon doesn't recognize him. He assures them he'll do whatever he can to find Gibbons.

Lloyd talks to the Angeles Hospital administrator, Dunkirk, who is transferring Dylan to a less secure facility. When Lloyd objects, Dunkirk points out that Lloyd confessed on TV that he caused the Blackout. Olivia comes in and suggests they transfer Dylan to a private children's hospital in Glendale. She promises to make sure Dylan gets a bed. As she leaves, Lloyd admits he doesn't expect anyone to help him, but Olivia assures him that she will.

At Joyce's funeral, Zoey listens and notices a white flower. She remembers holding a white flower in her flashforward, and realizes that she never saw Demetri, and she was attending his funeral on the beach. Zoey breaks into tears and leaves.

In Hong Kong, Mark and Demetri go to the dim sung restaurant and find Nhadra, accompanied by two bodyguards. She orders her people to step aside and then tells the agents they shouldn't have come. Nhadra admits it was a mistake to call Demetri and explains that his death is the first in a series of events that will set bad things in motion. However, she admits she can't do anything to stop Demetri's death, and giving him further information will cause it to happen. She finally relents and tells Demetri he was shot at close range three times, meaning Demetri probably knows his killer. Nhadra then confirms that Mark is the one who will shoot Demetri, using the Sig-Sauer he's carrying now. She admits she lied during her initial call and didn't tell Demetri that she knew his killer. When Mark wonders how she knows, Nhadra recites the serial number of his gun. In response, Mark removes it and confirms she's telling the truth. When Demetri wonders if she's lying, she tells him to look into her eyes and see if she's telling the truth.

Nhadra tells them it's now time to leave. In response, Mark upsets the table, grabs Nhadra, and takes her out through the kitchen at gunpoint. They get outside but Chinese police and tell the agents to put their guns down. Vogel arrives and tells them that Nhadra is a material witness in a murder. When Mark refuses to back down, Vogel has the police lower their guns and Mark releases Nhadra. The police knock Mark to the ground while Nhadra walks away, warning that it's never over.

At the hospital, Olivia finishes the transfer papers for Dylan and Lloyd thanks her for her efforts. She notes that he did a brave thing. They discuss when he went to Harvard in 1998 and Olivia explains she was going to go to Harvard in 1998, and was going to live in the building next door to where Lloyd lived. However, the FBI hired Mark and he transferred to Los Angeles, and she went with him. Lloyd realizes that his wife moved into Olivia's intended building, and that's how he met her. Lloyd talks of parallel world theory, and how in another universe they might have met and married if not for Mark. He thanks Olivia again for her help

Vogel escorts Mark and Demetri to the airport and says that they don't need to know what Nhadra knows. Mark realizes that Vogel is with the CIA. Vogel readily admits it and warns that Mosaic is much bigger than Mark, or the FBI. He invites Mark to take a swing at him, noting he has nothing else to lose. As Mark considers the offer, his phone ring and Vogel says he should take it. Mark answers it: it's Stan. Stan tells him he received a security video from the restaurant from the Chinese ambassador, and congratulates him on changing the future. Once Stan is done, Mark hands over his gun and badge to Demetri and admits he's no longer FBI.

At her office, Nhadra warns a visitor that the FBI have been following him since the doll factory, and she can no longer protect him. Gibbons tells her that he'll find someone who can.

Zoey goes to see Demetri's mother and explains that she's finally realized that Mrs. Noh wouldn't come to the wedding no matter what, but would attend Demetri's funeral. Mrs. Noh explains that based on what they saw of Zoey's love in her flashforward, she and her husband would be proud to have Zoey as part of their family. Zoey insists that they can change the future.

At the airport, Mark and Demetri wait for their flight and watch A Christmas Carol. Demetri apologizes for Mark getting into trouble over his problem, but Mark insists he's not going to let Demetri die.

At the hospital, Nicole stops by to give Bryce a present and cheer him up. The present is a lucky Japanese cat statue that offers luck in love. He thanks her and she assures him he'll find the woman from his flashforward. As she leaves, Janis approaches Bryce and asks what she should do to get pregnant. Specifically, she'd like him to recommend a fertility clinic. Bryce provides her with an address and she thanks him for his help.

Lloyd is having his son transferred and wheels him out to the ambulance. As the EMTs load Dylan in, Olivia comes to see them off. She helps get Dylan onto the gurney and says she'll miss him, and then awkwardly embraces Lloyd and wishes him a nice life. Olivia asks him if he believes in the parallel world theory he described earlier, but Lloyd declines to answer. He thanks her again and says goodbye.

Dylan starts to panic as the EMTs strap him in. When Olivia confronts them, they say they're on a schedule and don’t have time for her. She calls a security guard but the two fake EMTs gun him down. They threaten to shoot Olivia unless Lloyd gets in the ambulance with them. He goes with them, leaving Dylan and Olivia behind.
