Let No Man Put Asunder - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Two Years before the Blackout

Mark gives a greeting speech to a group of new agents, including Demetri, Janis, Marcie, and Al Gough. Demetri ends up paired with Vreede, but he would rather trade with Gough for Mark, a legend in the department. Gough agrees but says Stan will have to sign off on trade. Janis ends up in Analysis with Marcie under her. Marcie is concerned that she's in a low-end position, but her classmates assure her she'll soon outpace them all.

Now

On March 12, Mark and Demetri interrogate the captive Marcie, and an angry Demetri demands answers that Marcie claims not to have. Mark gets him out of the room and assures him that there are more important answers they need, and that he's well aware that March 15 is coming... the day Demetri is supposed to die. He tells Demetri to track down leads on his murder while Mark finishes his interrogation of Marcie. Mark calls Janis in to help with the interrogation. Marcie explains that her duties were to leave the Mosaic information at a dead drop, and that a man recruited her three months before the Blackout. She explains that she saw in her flashforward that she was in jail for shooting agents, but was able to bargain for a lighter sentence by holding back the information of who hired her. Marcie enjoyed the sense of importance. Stan calls Mark away to meet their guests from Washington: two agents representing Director Middleton, who wants to control the PR end of things by transporting Marcie to DC. The lead agent, Conner, refuses to give Mark one more day to get something from Marcie.

Once Marcie is taken away, Stan asks for an update on the Dyson Frost investigation. They have nothing despite the fact Mark has left the man multiple messages. Demetri arrives and informs them that the LAPD has gotten a ballistics report on Mark's missing gun. It was used in a murder the previous night.

Mark and Demetri go to the crime scene, a homeless shelter. The victim, a 55-year-old man, told his killer that "I knew it would be you" even though he didn't believe it. The killer then shot him three times in the chest with the silenced gun and left in a 1970 blue sedan. Mark focuses on how the gun got there... and that Marcie was one of the people who had access. The agents go to the airport and confront her. All she can say is that the person she contacted told her that Demetri will die in L.A., and she tells Demetri there's nothing he can do to stop it.

Charlie is eager to go to the nearby park with Olivia, where Lloyd and Dylan are waiting. As the children run off to play, the adults realize Charlie and Dylan set things up to meet there. Things are awkward between Olivia and Lloyd, and then they run to check on the children when they bump heads. Charlie is bleeding from where she hit her teeth, and Lloyd helps to calm her down. Olivia assures her daughter they'll still go to the carnival in a couple of days.

Stan goes to the airport and meets Vice President Joyce Clemente in a government plane. Stan wants to get down to business and Clemente asks him about Jericho. She informs him that the company's CEO tripled his security recently, and she wants Stan to investigate it quietly. He wants to know why it's so important and Clemente explains that in her flashforward where she was President, Jericho had done something that trigged a political crisis and put President Dave Segovia out of office. When Stan hesitates, Clemente warns that all of the flashforwards seem to be coming true, and Stan can try and protect his friend or win favor with her.

Back at FBI headquarters, Demetri does a data search for the sedan. Stan talks to Mark about Jericho and asks why he was checking them out using the FBI database. When Mark explains that Aaron thought Jericho was involved in his daughter's disappearance, Stan asks to talk to him. Mark agrees but warns that he has no idea how to contact Aaron.

As Mark goes over the files on the dead man, Demetri informs him that the LAPD are chasing after the blue sedan, which belongs to a Ross Weber. They go to where the police have cornered Weber in a building. Shots are exchanged and Weber takes hostages on the second floor. Mark and Demetri go in and Mark insists on Demetri staying outside while he negotiates. Demetri refuses to abandon his partner despite the risk and insist on going in without his gun to confront Weber. Weber is clearly demented, demanding to see Randy Savage and insisting that the saleswoman he's taken hostage caused the Blackout. While Demetri distracts him, Mark comes at him from above. However, Demetri convinces Weber to push aside the hostage, and then draws a hidden gun and shoots him in the shoulder. Mark and Demetri watch as the wounded Weber drops Mark's gun.

Later, the EMTs stabilize Weber and get him to the hospital, and Demetri determines that Weber's gun doesn't belong to Mark. When Mark wonders why Demetri put himself at risk, Demetri explains that he had to ask Weber why he was going to kill him in three days. He reminds Mark of the speech he gave about being a person who could be counted on, and admits he hasn't been that way since the Blackout. When he asks Mark for help, Mark points out that his recent track record hasn't been very good. However, he tells Demetri to leave with Zoey and go somewhere safe.

Two Years Ago

Demetri testifies in a money-for-goods exchange and Zoey is the defense lawyer cross-examining him. She demolishes his testimony. Outside, she tells him not take it personally and offers to make it up to him by inviting him to dinner. He insists he won't go out with her.

Now

That night at dinner, Demetri tells Zoey that she's beautiful and then explains that he was only there because he switched places with Gough. He figures it's about all the small decisions they make leading to somewhere good and then asks her to marry him right now and then go on an extended honeymoon. She immediately agrees.

Olivia comes to Lloyd's home to thank him for helping Charlie at the park. He invites her in and she reluctantly comes in, but then decides she should leave. Lloyd asks why she just didn't call to thank him. Olivia admits that she's made a mess of things and Lloyd explains he used Dylan's autism as an excuse to get away from his ex-wife Linda. He figures that they're both in that room on April 29 for a reason. Olivia admits it scares her and Lloyd agrees that it should, and then they kiss.

Aaron returns to his cheap cash-only hotel room and finds Stan waiting for him. Stan explains that he's a friend of Mark and that he located Aaron through Internet searches he ran at the nearby public library. He wants proof against Jericho, and Aaron explains that Tracy is alive and Jericho has her. He plans to go to Afghanistan to get her back from them, using an U.S. passport. Stan warns that Jericho will quickly track and kill him, and offers his help in getting Aaron to Afghanistan. In returns he wants Aaron to convince Tracy to testify about Jericho wiping out the village.

Demetri's friends buy him drinks to celebrate his upcoming wedding and Janis finally takes the drunken agent to a cab.

Stan meets again with Aaron and tells him that he has military clearance as a generator technician. He gives Aaron a cell phone with video capability and instructions to document Tracy's testimony against Jericho and upload it via satellite to Stan. Stan provides him with an exit out and gives him a bag full of untraceable guns, but admits he doesn't think that Aaron will be coming back. Aaron tells him about his flashforward of Tracy alive in Afghanistan and insists that anyone who gets in his way won't have a chance.

As Janis takes Demetri to a cab, he wonders if she thinks he's a coward for running away. She assures him he's doing what he has to and gets him into a cab. Before he goes, Demetri wants to talk about their night in Somalia. Before he can say anything, Janis tells him that she's pregnant and then walks away.

Zoey and Demetri visit the church they've chosen for their wedding. The reverend refuses to officiate for them without their undergoing pre-marital counseling. As they talk, they're unaware that Dyson Frost is watching from the balcony.

At FBI headquarters, Stan tells Mark he never found Aaron. Vreede reports that he's tracked Frost's cell phone call to a convenience store 12 days ago. The security footage shows Frost going to a blue sedan similar to the one that Weber drove. They wonder what Frost is up to, but Mark figures that the scientist has some kind of plan.

Demetri is at home dressing for the wedding when Frost breaks in and knocks him out.

At the church, Internet minister Vreede is prepared to officiate as Demetri's friends gather. When Demetri doesn't show up, Mark tries to call him without success as Zoey wonders what's happening.

Frost is parked outside a carnival. He covers up the unconscious Demetri in the backseat and then gets out.

Olivia is running the Wheel of Fortune booth at the school carnival. Mark calls to tell her he won't be able to make it because something has happened to Demetri. Before hanging up, Mark tells her to be careful. Olivia then call out to Charlie but gets no answer.

Charlie is sitting on a bench at the carnival when Frost sits next to her and addresses her by name.
