April 29

3:23 a.m.

Charlie has a bad dream and Olivia comes to check on her. She tries to assure her daughter that everything will be okay, but Charlie notes that today is the day that her father Mark dies.

7:26 a.m.

At Janis' apartment, Simon explains that everyone wants him dead now that the conspiracy has revealed he's Suspect Zero, and he wants revenge on the people responsible. Janis notes that they have Hellinger, but Simon warns that it goes far beyond him, and he doesn't know who else is involved. He wants to investigate the accelerator software to determine who altered the software, and points out the FBI and CIA won't let him near the mainframe. When Janis wonders how he got involved in the conspiracy, Simon admits that they appealed to his vanity and offers to surrender once she gets him into NLAP.



8:11 a.m.

As Mark and Demetri grab a breakfast on the streets, Mark tells Demetri to go with Zoey to Hawaii and they have everything covered. When Demetri hesitates, Mark wonders if he's getting cold feet and tells him that even though they're separated now, marrying Olivia was the best thing he ever did.

At breakfast, Olivia assures Charlie she can stay home from school. Lloyd calls and wants to discuss that night, and insists they should be together, but Olivia says she can't worry about that now. Meanwhile, Mark arrives at FBI Headquarters and Vogel informs him that Hellinger used flashforwards to make perfect investments and become rich. Stan tells them that Hellinger has refused to say anything except that he wants to talk to Mark.

Mark enters the interrogation room and demands answers, but Hellinger draws a schematic showing that he's seen dozens of flashforwards of the day and in each one, Mark loses control, attacks him, and ends up dead in his office. Mark ignores him and demands to know when the next Blackout is going to occur. Hellinger says that the only way for Mark to avoid his destiny is to let him go, but Mark persists and Hellinger refuses to say anything else. Mark looks at what Hellinger has drawn, including a symbol next to the word "wipe," remembers his own flashforward, and leaves with the pad.



Mark shows the symbol to Lloyd, who identifies it as the tachyon constant, a theoretical number. It was on Frost's blueprints and the formula in Lloyd's flashforward. When Mark wonders what a tachyon wipe is, Lloyd insists that there is no such thing.

Nicole visits Bryce at his home and they discuss their plans for the day. She notices his drawings of Keiko, and Bryce assures her she has nothing to worry about from a pretend girl in Japan.

At the Immigration Detention Center, Keiko's lawyer Teek warns her that unless she comes up with bond money, she'll be kept there. Teek tells Keiko to keep believing, and Keiko considers the tattoo that she got with the Kanji symbol of the word "believe."


Demetri meets Zoey at the airport. Before they leave for Hawaii, Demetri explains to Zoey that he slept with Janis in Somalia so she could have the baby she saw in her flashforward. He tries to explain that he thought he was going to die and he wanted to help another life enter the world. Zoey is shocked and points out that she crossed all the lines she did because she thought they were going to have a life together. Demetri admits that she was right and asks her to marry him, but she tells him she's going to Hawaii with her parents and doesn't want him along, and she doesn't know what will happen after that.



In Afghanistan at the medical center, Aaron assures Tracy that they'll be okay because of his seeing her alive in his flashforward. Kahmir warns that she's in bad shape.

Mark runs a check on Hellinger's business interests and finds an information processing office with Tachyon in the name, located in Arcadia. He figures that they will wipe info, and prepares to take a team to investigate. Both Vogel and Stan tell him that it may be a trap set by Hellinger and he's staying. When Mark insists, Stan overrides him and has him stay behind.

Kahmir sends Aaron away so he can work on Tracy. Aaron tortures the Jericho soldier they captured, Kevin Conner, and forces him to explain that they went after Tracy because she saw a village that had suffered a Blackout. Tracy was unaffected by the experiment, which Conner explains is a trial for the global Blackout.

1:34 p.m.

As Janis and Simon leave for NLAP, Demetri arrives. He and Simon both draw their guns, and Janis explains that Simon is making a deal. Demetri can't believe she's going to let Simon use the equipment again, but Janis insists it’s the best way she knows to get the job done. She asks Demetri to forget he saw Simon, but he refuses. Janis has no choice but to disarm Simon and take him prisoner. In the struggle, she's hit in the stomach. Simon warns that they'll regret their decision for the rest of their lives. Demetri leads Simon away while Janis clutches at her stomach.

The special ops team reports from the Tachyon office to Mark and Vogel that they've found nothing. Mark realizes it's a trap and orders them out, but it's too late as the enemy ambushes the team. Mark looks up at Hellinger, who is watching from the interrogation room and smirking. As Mark goes after him, Stan and Vogel stop him. Charlie and Olivia arrive and Charlie runs into her father's arms. Olivia admits that she didn't know what else to do. After an awkward pause, Mark thanks her. Charlie looks at the Mosaic board and tells her father she doesn't want him to die. Mark tells her that it's okay to be afraid at first, but he'll always be with her. They embrace, as Olivia looks on. As Charlie runs to her mother afterward, Mark looks up at the Mosaic board.




3:37 p.m.

As Demetri puts Simon in the SUV, he wonders how Janis can believe Simon. She admits that she knows from personal experience that after a certain point, people can't handle the lying any more. She tells Demetri not to lie for her and tell Stan everything. He starts to drive away, then comes back, confirms that she's serious, and tells her to get in.

At home, Lloyd is working on his papers when Dylan comes in. The boy starts rearranging the numbers, insisting they have to be in the right place, and Lloyd remembers that Gabriel said the same thing, and that Lloyd and Olivia had to be in the right place. He leaves and takes Dylan with him.

Mark returns to the interrogation room and tries to question Hellinger about the next Blackout, but Hellinger warns that he gave Mark a choice and that no matter what, now he's going to die now that Mark has made the wrong choice. He notes that the Mosaic board is a scrapbook of his failures, and that Mark has the faith to keep on fighting but that's why he'll die. When Hellinger taunts him, saying that Charlie will be better off when Mark is dead, Mark snaps and beats him. Vogel and the other agents pull Mark off and get him outside. Stan tells the agents to get Mark out of the building and they haul him out as he yells.



4:17 p.m.

As Nicole and Bryce leave for the Flashforward day party, she wishes that they were spending the time alone. Bryce would rather witness the event and everyone embracing their futures. Nicole admits that she's worried that her flashforward of dying may already be underway, but Bryce assures her that he'll be there to protect her. She explains that in her flashforward, she felt that she deserved to die. Nicole then admits that she knows Keiko is in Los Angeles. Bryce wants to know where she is, and realizes that Nicole let Keiko stay in the holding facility.

Keiko's mother Yuuka comes to bail her daughter out and take her back to Japan. Keiko insists she has to be at the sushi restaurant at 10 to meet the man in her flashforward, but Yuuka warns that Immigration will hold her if she's not out of the country.



Tracy's heart stop and Kahmir calls Aaron over to help. He begs her to come back, insisting it can't be right.

As everyone parties in the streets, Mark walks the streets and remembers everything that Frost and Hellinger told him, and how Lloyd warned that the future is inevitable. A man who says he had a flashforward where he stops drinking hands Mark a flask and asks him to keep it, and leaves before Mark can give it back. Mark considers it then, sobbing, starts drinking from it.



6:46 p.m.

As Simon dozes in the back, Janis asks Demetri why he changed his mind. He admits that he was pissed at her apparent betrayal and didn't know who she was any more. Demetri figures that her plan is just like her, the way he used to know her. He then tells Janis that he told Zoey about the baby and that he couldn't take lying any more. As they drive, Janis clutches at her stomach in pain.

Kahmir informs Aaron that Tracy is dead, her brain starved of oxygen. Aaron continues working to revive her but finally gives up.

Mark goes to a bar and drinks. When a man sits next to him and tries to make conversation, suggesting that they might have been talking in his flashforward, Mark says it's not what he saw.

Olivia is driving away as Charlie sleeps in the back. Lloyd calls from outside her home and wonders where she's been. Olivia explains that she needs some space and she isn't coming back for now. Lloyd tries to explain that she needs to be there at 10 p.m. to fulfill the conditions, but Olivia insists that she's not going to try to fit into their flashforwards. As Lloyd hangs up, Dylan says that Olivia and Charlie aren't coming back.

At the bar, the man continues to insist that Mark was there in his flashforward, Mark finally attacks him and a fight breaks out at 6:58.

Mark ends up in jail.

Demetri drives Janis and Simon to NLAP.

Aaron watches over Tracy's corpse.



Nicole sits in Bryce's house and looks at his sketches of Keiko.

Keiko and Yuuka go to the airport.

Bryce arrives at Immigration.

Lloyd and Dylan sit outside of the Benford house.

Olivia and Charlie walk on the beach.
