Flipper is a children's action and adventure series which aired on NBC from 1964 until 1967. The show starred Brian Kelly as Porter Ricks, chief warden at fictional Coral Key Park and Marine Preserve in southern Florida. Luke Halpin and Tommy Norden played his sons Sandy and Bud. The Ricks family shared their outdoor adventures with a dolphin named Flipper. Dubbed an 'aquatic Lassie', the show is timeless in appeal.

recap: Mr. Hallson is called upon to investigate a drowning in the park. When he is bitten by a rare but poisonous sea snake, neither he nor his wife are able to navigate their yawl. Bud haps upon their craft and contacts his father over the Hallson's radio. Porter gives Bud instructions on setting the sails. With Bud at the prow and Mrs. Hallson at the tiller, Flipper guides the yawl through the treacherous reef. The yawl arrives in port just in time to save Mr. Hallson's life... read more.

1x22: The White Dolphin recap: Flipper and the Ricks stop a man named Jed Harvey from trapping a white dolphin on the preserve. Porter calls an aquarium to rescue the dolphin. In the meantime, Bud and Flipper try to the keep an eye on the white dolphin. Harvey appears and tells Bud he’ll shoot Flipper in order to trap the albino. He takes Bud aboard his boat and stalks the white dolphin. Bud teaches Harvey the importance of loving and caring for a dolphin. Harvey changes his mind about trapping the albino. 1x21: Flipper's Treasure recap: A Boston man calling himself Dr. James arrives to survey a Spanish wreck discovered by Flipper and Bud. Flipper doesn’t trust James. At the bottom of the sea, James finds a chest near the wreck and hides its valuable contents in his secret hideaway on the beach. Flipper watches. James declares the wreck worthless and pretends to leave. He sneaks back to retrieve the treasure. Flipper alerts Bud and together they confront James. Flipper turns James’ boat over as he tries to escape. Porter has learned that James is a crook and arrives on the scene to arrest him... read more.

recap: Bud needs money. When he sets out to find a job, Flipper leads him to a sunken boat where dollar bills are floating about. Bud gathers as much of the floating money as he can and spends it at a department store on expensive gifts. He then takes his scuba gear and, with Sandy along, heads off to gather more money on the sunken boat. Meanwhile, lawmen arrive at the Ricks cottage. They tell Porter that Bud has been passing counterfeit money. The boat Bud has discovered was once the property of counterfeiters and they rigged the boat with a dynamite trap.
