The Day of the Shark - Recap

Porter calls marine expert Dr. Tollner to investigate sharks on the preserve. Tollner wants to use a repellent rather than knives and spears to drive the sharks away. Porter, Tollner, and Sandy set off to find the sharks. At home, Bud puts his transistor radio in a plastic bag and sets off on his paddleboard to while away the hours. When Bud paddles toward Tollner’s boat, he puts himself in danger of being attacked by the sharks. His transistor radio falls in the water and Flipper nudges it towards the sharks. The sharks suddenly swim out to sea. Tollner comes to the conclusion that the high frequency squeal of Bud’s radio acted as an effective shark repellent.
