There is someone out there murdering a number of homeless people and draining their bodies of all the blood.
A museum guard is also killed the same fashion during a robbery of a special artifact, a Mayan cup that Detective Nick Knight believes can help him become mortal again.
Nick suspects that his old mentor Lacroix is in town and behind the murders. Forced into a partnership with the unbearable Detective Schanke, Nick has to face both Lacroix and the Homeless Killer while trying to protect his friends.

Episode Notes

This episode was also known as Schwarze Sonne (Black Son).

This pilot is actually a remake of a 1989 pilot that starred former rock idol Rick Springfield as Nick Knight.

In the original pilot Nick's name was given as Jean-Pierre (this was how he was addressed by both Jeanette and Lacroix). In the series, they called him Nicholas.
