Rachel is a spoilt "princess" who cannot survive without her daddy's wallet, so the gang teach her how to survive on your own. Meanwhile, Monica's brother, Ross, is trying to move on with his life after his wife becomes a lesbian, with a little help from his friends, Joey and Chandler, whilst Monica goes on a date with Paul the wine guy.

Ross finds out his ex-wife, Carol, is pregnant and he has to attend the sonogram along with Carol's lesbian lover, Susan. But the sonogram turns sour when he discovers Carol and Susan plans for his unborn child. Meanwhile, Monica and Ross's parents are coming for dinner, sending Monica off to impress her overbearing mother, whilst Rachel comes face-to-face with her jilted fiancee for the first time since the wedding.

Meanwhile, Joey gets a part in a musical called "A Tale Of Two Cities", having lied on his resume about his dancing skills. Chandler advises him to reject the job after seeing him dance. But Joey still attends. After sleeping with Chloe, Ross is guilt-ridden when Rachel arrives apologising for the way she has treated him. Meanwhile, Monica tells Rachel she is dating a guy from her resturant to cover up her affair with Chandler. Chandler is delighted when Rachel tells him that Monica's new lover is the best sex she's ever had and cannot resist gloating, which lands in him in Monica's bad books. Elsewhere, Ross finally makes contact with Emily, who asks him to move to London. He is torn as he doesn't want to leave his son Ben. But he also doesn't want to have two failed marriages. Things get worse when Emily suggests getting rid of Ross's lifelong apartment in favour of her cousins old place, forcing Joey to flip out and tell Ross a few home truths. Faced with losing everything and everyone he loves, Ross is forced to face that his marriage cannot survive. Meanwhile, Monica and Rachel encounter what appears to be a Yeti and they fug him with a bug bomb. The Yeti turns out to be their new neighbour, Danny. Rachel and Danny clash when Danny accuses Rachel of being shallow, whilst Phoebe inherites a Buffay family heirloom - a fur coat.

Phoebe wants to learn, whilst Rachel wants to have fun and repeatedly asks Phoebe to do her work and give her knowledge on books, which gives Phoebe an idea for revenge, whilst a troubled Ross gets really mad after his boss eats his leftover Thanksgiving sandwich and becomes greatly feared at the museam because of his outburst.
