Fringe: Jacksonville

The arrival of a building from the alternate Earth causes massive death and destruction to those occupying the site at its arrival. Walter soon realizes that to equalize the balance between universes, another building will have to disappear... along with everyone inside it. The team's only chance is for Walter to activate Olivia's long-buried ability to distinguish objects from the other universe.

Recap

In Manhatan in the alternate reality, Ted Pratchett and Pauline Hess are working at an architectural form, discussing Ted's stash of real coffee smuggled in from Hawaii, and go over their plans for a Pentagon annex. A series of microtremors shake the building and they complain, but note that the news has said that they're harmless. Pauline leaves for the night, and another tremor shakes the building: a large one. The power goes out and Ted is thrown to the floor. When he recovers consciousness, he discovers that he has merged with a support beam... and someone else's body...

Episode Notes
The glyph/code spells out REVEAL.

In the opening sequence MANHATTAN is misspelled as MANHATAN. That, combined with the discussion between Ted and Pauline about the scarcity of "real coffee," subtly indicates that the opening sequence is in fact set in the alternate reality, not the Fringe team's Earth.

Episode Quotes
Olivia: So what are the odds of something like this occurring naturally?
Walter: Oh, it's possible. But if so, God has a far more disturbed sense of humor than even I could have imagined.

Astrid: Walter, I don't think I can do this. I've seen some pretty disturbing things in my time working with you, and I think I've handled them pretty well. But this... I can't do.

Astrid: I think this qualifies. Richard Nixon on a silver dollar.
Walter: That's disturbing.

Olivia: I failed. I failed and I'm supposed to be the one who can stop things like this.
Peter: Olivia. You--I've never met anyone who can do the things that you do.

Olivia: So you think we should just let the budding disappear? Let those people disappear?
Broyles: There are times when the only choices you have left are bad ones.

Olivia: The conspiracy nuts are gonna have a field day.
Broyles: You'd be surprised what you can make the general public believe.

Walter: She's here, Peter.
Peter: I know, I heard it too.
Walter: Shall I get the door?
Peter: Absolute not. In fact, it would be my preference if you could be someplace else all together.
Walter: Oh... where?
Peter: Chicago?
