Obstetrician Dr. Rosa Oporto conducts tests on Fauxlivia to determine if she has VPE like her sister Rachel did. Oporto warns that they won't know the results for several weeks, but admits that the odds are that Olivia may have VPE. She advises them to take it one step at a time.



Marilyn drives Olivia home from the doctor's office and tries to comfort Fauxlivia, who warns that the odds are against her and the baby surviving childbirth. Fauxlivia's mother asks who the father is, and Fauxlivia repeats her story that she met a man in a bar and slept with him. Marilyn doesn't believe it, and insists that Fauxlivia would make a good mother. As Fauxlivia goes into her apartment, she senses someone following her and calls Lincoln. She says that she thought people have been following her recently, and Lincoln sends a detail over to guard her. Fauxlivia locks her apartment door behind her, but two men are waiting for her and taser her unconscious.

At Fringe Division, Charlie and Lincoln are discussing Charlie's love life, and Charlie tells him that he should admit he has a thing for Fauxlivia. As they get in, they get word that Fauxlivia has been abducted.

At the Department of Defense, Brandon suggests to Secretary Bishop that experiment on children, but the Secretary reminds him that he's decided not to. Lincoln calls Bishop and tells him that Fauxlivia has been kidnapped, and Bishop tells him to recover Fauxlivia without harming her.



Lincoln's team brings the echelon tracking satellite on line, and home in on Fauxlivia's subcutaneous tracker. When they arrive at the indicated location, they discover that someone has removed the tracker and thrown it into the grass.

Fauxlivia's abductors, a team of doctors, take her to a warehouse and strap her to a table. Aided by Nurse Joyce, they give her injections to speed up the pregnancy and then sedate her as she starts to wake up. Joyce hooks up a scanner and leaves with the others, as an image of the fetus appears on the screen by Fauxlivia.



At Fringe Division, Lincoln and Charlie figure that the kidnappers could only have known about the tracker if they had inside information. He has Agent Farnsworth start checking for individuals with the appropriate access, and she tells Lincoln that the same commercial vehicle has gone by Fauxlivia's apartment six times in the last week.

Cabdriver Henry Higgins is on the street when Lincoln and Charlie bring a team to capture him. They ask why he's been checking on Fauxlivia, and he explains that he knows her because he helped her escape from Charlie. When he says that he's surprised that she came back, Lincoln wonders what he's talking about.

The doctors return to check on Fauxlivia and the lead physician tells Joyce to give Fauxlivia an increased dose of sedative to keep her quiet. They're confident that Fauxlivia should soon give birth. The doctors leave and Joyce gives the reluctant Fauxlivia another sedative pill. Once the nurse leaves the chamber, Fauxlivia spits the pill out.

Henry tells Lincoln and Charlie that Olivia said she was trying to get home to Peter, and she convinced him to help. The cabdriver admits that he didn't expect to see Olivia again, but he ran into Fauxlivia a few weeks later by accident and she didn't recognize him. When Henry tells them that Olivia mentioned other universes, Charlie and Lincoln wonder if their Fauxlivia and the Olivia from This Side were switched.



Marilyn is in the park, when Oporto calls to tell her that she hasn't been able to reach Fauxlivia, and she's confirmed that they've confirmed VPE. As Marilyn talks to the obstetrician, she sees a granddaughter, mother, and daughter flying a kite in the park.

Fauxlivia feigns unconsciousness and grabs a scalpel from a nearby cart. She starts to cut through her straps, but screams in pain. Joyce hears the sound and tells the doctors that they're ready, as the fetus starts writhing beneath Fauxlivia's skin.



Lee reports to Secretary Bishop about what Henry said, and asks if the two Olivias were switched. The secretary admits that they were, and believes that it may have something to do with Fauxlivia's abduction. He says that Fauxlivia is carrying his grandson, and that he thought they'd be safer if no one else knew the truth. Lee wonders if invaders from This Side might have taken her, and the secretary admits that it's possible. He also suggests that one of his enemies be trying to get at him through Fauxlivia, and gives Lee complete access to the mission files so that he can find Fauxlivia and prevent the loss of his grandson.

The doctors take Fauxlivia to an operating theater and give her drugs to make her ligaments suppler. The leading doctor tells Joyce to give Fauxlivia more blood, and the nurse warns that they may be endangering the procedure. He disregards her advice and tells her to initiate Phase 2, and she reluctantly does so. Joyce then has Fauxlivia empty her bladder. While she waits, Fauxlivia appeals to her as a dedicated nurse, and then warns that she probably has VPE. She asks Joyce to leave her alone for a minute, but Joyce tells her to finish up.

Lee and Charlie tell Farnsworth the classified information that Fauxlivia is pregnant so that she can input the additional variable and narrow down the list of suspects. Marilyn arrives at Lee's invitation and Charlie assures her that they're doing everything possible. Marilyn explains that Fauxlivia has been seeing Dr. Oporto, and warns that her daughter can't have the baby.

As Joyce escorts Fauxlivia back to the operating theater, the Fringe agent grabs the discarded scalpel, takes Joyce hostage, and knocks out two other doctors. She forces Joyce to open the door and then runs off as the nurse calls for help. Fauxlivia finds herself in Chinatown and tries to get the janitor at a restaurant let her in. Before she can, she collapses in pain as her water break. Despite the agony, Fauxlivia gets to a phone and calls Lee. At Fringe Division, Lee is releasing Henry when the call comes in. Fauxlivia tells Lee approximately where she is and is then forced to run when one of the younger doctors comes after her. Henry offers to get Lee to Chinatown via a shortcut.



Fauxlivia gets to a crowd and collapses. Meanwhile, Farnsworth traces the call and Charlie tells Lee that Fauxlivia won't make it through delivery. He and Henry arrive and get Fauxlivia into a nearby grocery store. Henry assures Fauxlivia that he has delivered a baby before and offers to help. As the contractions start, Lee holds her and tells her to focus on the two of them, and then tells her that he loves her. Fauxlivia makes him promise to save the baby. The baby is born and Lee tells Fauxlivia, who passes out briefly but then revives. She holds her son as Lee and Henry smile in relief. As the ambulance finally pulls up, Joyce watches from the crowd.



Later, Charlie and Lee go to the hospital and meet Secretary Bishop, who tells him to bring in a full security detail. Lee reports that Fauxlivia's abductors had disappeared by the time they got to the building. He promises Lee that his work won't go unrewarded and then goes to see his grandson. Fauxlivia is holding her son, and tells Marilyn that they survived because her accelerated pregnancy outpaced the VPE.

Charlie and Lee discuss what they've discovered, and figure there's a connection between Colonel Broyles' disappearance and their Olivia's reappearance. They figure that there's more that they don't know about what's going on.

Fauxlivia admits to Marilyn that she didn't spend any time considering being a mom, and wonders if she's ready. Marilyn assures her that as long as she loves her son, she'll figure it out. A nurse takes the baby for a blood sample and Marilyn watches. An orderly takes the blood sample: the young doctor that was chasing Fauxlivia earlier. The doctor goes to the stairwell and gives the blood sample to a man. As the two men go their separate ways, the Watcher observes them from above, makes a call, and reports, "It is happening."



Secretary Bishop watches Fauxlivia from outside her room. Brandon arrives and asks why he told Lee so much, and the secretary explains that he needed to win the agent's trust with the truth. His assistant then says that they succeeded, and hands over the blood sample.
