Frontline: Syria Behind the Lines

An examination of the civil war in Syria through the eyes of the rebel fighters, government soldiers and civilians caught up in the conflict in Idlib province, where the Orontes River divides Sunni and Alawite strongholds. On one side, rebels protect and patrol Sunni villages that back their effort to topple Bashar al-Assad; on the other, however, government forces are supported by Assad's Alawite minority. "We used to be like brothers," says one rebel of the old friends he's now fighting.
