Futurama: When Aliens Attack
Back in the 20th century, Fry accidentally destroyed a television transmitter, cutting off the last episode of
Single Female Lawyer. Omicron Persei 8, one thousand light years away from earth, received the broadcast one thousand years later. Oblivious to the upset this has caused the Omicronians, the Planet Express crew goes to the beach for a vacation day. Their fun is cut short by an alien attack. Lrrr, leader of Planet Omicron Persei 8, demands to see the conclusion of the show or else he will destroy the Earth. With no remaining copies of the show in existence, everyone's fate depends on Fry and his extensive television knowledge.

Episode Quotes
(Fry spills his beer)
Technician: Oh, my God! You knocked Fox off the air!
Fry: Pssh! Like anyone on earth cares.
Leela: Well, you heard the windbag. We've been drafted. Everyone into the ship.
Bender: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on. I refuse to fight. I'm a conscientious objector.
Fry: A what?
Bender: You know, a coward.
Zapp: Remember, our mission is simple. Destroy all aliens!
Kif: Um, uh, not me, sir.
Zapp: Oh, yes, right. Nobody destroy Kif. (covertly) Unless you have to.
Zapp: The alien mothership is in orbit here. If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.
(Kif sighs)
Leela: They're going to destroy the entire Earth if they don't see some stupid TV show about some bimbo lawyer?
Fry: It's crazy! How could they even know about a show from a thousand years ago?
Professor: Well, Omicron Persei 8 is about a thousand light years away. So the electromagnetic waves would just recently have gotten there. You see-
Fry: Magic. Got it.
Fry: You see? TV audiences don't want anything original. They wanna see the same thing they've seen a thousand times before.
Bender: Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Fry?
Lrrr: We are reasonably satisfied with the events we have seen. Overall, I would rate it a C+, OK, not great. As a result, we will not destroy your planet. But neither will we provide you with our recipe for immortality.
Fry: (angrily) Way to overact, Zoidberg.
