Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones

Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue abound. The primary families are the Stark, Lannister, and Baratheon families. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard Stark to serve as his chief advisor. Eddard, suspecting that his predecessor had been murdered, accepts so that he can investigate further. It turns out more than one family is plotting to take the throne. The Queen's family, the Lannisters, may be hatching an incestuous plot to take control. Across the sea, the last surviving members of the previously deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also plotting a return to power. The conflict between these families and others, including the Greyjoys, the Tullys, the Arryns, and the Tyrells, leads to war. Meanwhile, in the north, an ancient evil awakens. Amidst war and the political confusion, a brotherhood of misfits, The Night's Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and the horrors beyond. (Source: HBO)

Is this the real life, or is this just fantasy?Rating: 3 likes, 2 dislikes

Game of Thrones is, in my opinion, probably the best fantasy television show ever produced.
The character development, the plot development, the cinematography, the acting and writing...all are top notch. They manage to juggle the massive amount of story lines with deft ease and skill, never making you feel as if they rush through things. You love, hate, or empathize with each character at a level not common with television programs. This is one of very few truly brilliant shows. Read more

3x9: The Rains of Castamere recap: This episode begins with Rob mulling over tactics. Caitlyn, who is present, asks why he is telling her. He states that he did not heed her advice when it came to Theon. He is not about to repeat his mistake. She glances down to the map in front of them and mentions the possibility of being trapped between the Lanisters and the water. She states that they have to take the Casterly Rock first. She tells him to show the Lanisters what it is like to lose what they love. Rob’s men march on Casterly Rock... read more.

3x8: Second Sons recap: The episode begins with Arya holding a rock above a sleeping Hound. He not really sleeping though and warns her to kill him because if he lives he will break both her hands. He tells her to quit trying to kill him because he's taking her to her family. The Khaleesi and her men observe the sell swords arriving at Yunkai. They are the Second Sons. She orders her Grey Worm to send a man to see if they would rather fight for the winning side. The three leaders of the Second Sons meet with them in the Khaleesi's tent. The leader taunts her like she's a whore but Dario seems more reasonable and intelligent, noting that they have 8,000 Unsullied, not 10,000... read more.

3x7: The Bear and the Maiden Fair recap: The episode begins and the Wildlings have scaled the wall and are now on their way to Castle Black. Although the Warg is skeptical of Jon Snow's allegiances and perhaps even lineage, it seems he also carries a torch for Ygritte. When he professes his love for her and points out that Jon Snow's beauty won't matter when she knows what he is, she doesn't budge. She's all in on Jon Snow and when he melts down pointing out that every time the Wildlings have attacked throughout the centuries, they have failed, she doesn't care, saying this time will be different because Mance Rayder is different... read more.

3x6: The Climb recap: The episode begins and Samwell and Gilly are deep in the woods huddled around a fire. He shows her an ancient dagger he found. He says it's just a few more days walk to the wall and it's even bigger than they say; 700 feet high. He notes Castle Black is nice enough with a 24/7 fire and a tasty venison stew. She asks him to sing her a song and he sings her a lullaby like song. Elsewhere, also in a forest, Osha and Meera argue with each other about the proper way to skin a rabbit. Bran asks them to stop fighting, saying they have to stay united in order to make it to the wall. He asks them to make peace and grudgingly they do... read more.

3x5: Kissed by Fire recap: The episode begins with Beric Dondarrion asking the Lord of Light to cast his light upon them and show him the truth. Beric asks the Lord of Light to give him wisdom. He is going to fight the Hound, because the Hound has chosen trial by battle. The Hound and Beric fight it out. Eric’s sword is on fire as he aggressively attacks the Hound and the people chant that the Hound is guilty. Things do not go well for Beric and the Hound kills him. Arya grabs a knife and tries to get to the Hound. They hold her back and she screams for the Hound to burn in hell. She is told by Beric, who is alive, that he will, but not today... read more.
