The episode begins at Winterfell; and Theon welcomes riders with his sister, Yara, and she immediately mocks him for killing the Stark boys. He says the Northerners would have thought he was weak if he hadn't killed them. She's not there to defend Winterfell, she's there to bring him home. She thinks there will be hell to pay when Robb Stark finds out what Theon has done to the Stark boys. But Theon says he's killed the ravens and is holding the horses so Robb won't find out. Yara asks him nicely to come home with her so he doesn't die there. Meanwhile beyond the Wall; Ygritte brings her prisoner Jon Snow to her people. They order him killed until she points out he's Ned Stark's bastard son. She thinks Mance will want to decide what to do with him. They've also captured Quorin. ..

Episode Title: 'The Prince of Winterfell' is what Theon Greyjoy's sister calls him when she arrives at Winterfell. It is also the title of the 37th chapter of 'A Dance with Dragons.'

Trivia: When Jaime Lannister tells Brienne that there are three men that could have a chance to beat him in a battle, he is likely referring to Gregor "the Mountain" Clegane, Sandor "the Hound" Clegane and Ser Barristan Selmy.

Episode Quotes
Talisa: Most Lord's worry more about their gold and their glory than the woman scrubbing their floors.
Robb Stark: He didn't care much about gold or glory.
Talisa: And you?
Robb Stark: You think I'm fighting this war so that they'll sing songs about me? I want to go home. I want the men following me to go home.
Talisa: Then why don't you?
Robb Stark: Because we'll never be safe until the Lannister's are defeated, and because I believe in justice.
Talisa: Chopping off Joffrey's head, you mean?
Robb Stark: That would be a start.

Theon Greyjoy: You should be proud in your brother's achievements. I took the great castle of Winterfell with twenty men.
Yara Greyjoy: You're a great warrior. I saw the bodies above your gates. Which one gave you the tougher fight, the cripple or the six year old?

Robb Stark: Jaime Lannister has played you for a fool. You have weakened our position. You brought discord into our camp, and you did all behind my back. Make sure she's guarded day and night!
Catelyn Stark: Robb...
Robb Stark: How many men did we send on pursuit of the Kingslayer?
Stark Guard: Forty, Your Grace.
Robb Stark: Send another forty, with our fastest horses.

Tyrion Lannister: The Lord of Light wants his enemies burned. The Drowned God wants them drowned. Why are all the gods such vicious cunts? Where is the god of tits and wine?
Lord Varys: In the Summer Isles, they worship a fertility goddess with sixteen teats.
Tyrion Lannister: You should sail there immediately.

Brienne of Tarth: All my life men like you have sneered at me. And all my life I've been knocking men like you into the dust.
Jaime Lannister: If you're so confident, unlock my chains. Let's see what happens.
Brienne of Tarth: Do you take me for an idiot?
Jaime Lannister: I took you for a fighter, a man - oh, pardon - woman of honor. Was I wrong? You're afraid.
Brienne of Tarth: Maybe one day we'll find out, Kingslayer.

Lord Varys: And if Stannis does attack the Mud Gate, what is our plan?
Bronn: We could throw books at his men.
Lord Varys: We don't have that many books.
Bronn: We don't have that many men either.

Episode Goofs
Factual Error:

Lord Karstark mentions "the Father," which is one of the names for the godhead in the Faith of the Seven, while saying that he would kill himself and offer it to the gods if it would bring back his son. Lord Karstark is from the North and would worship the Old Gods, not the new.

Editing Error:

Guest star David Sheehan, who plays a Stark Guard, has his name spelled incorrectly in the credits. It is spelled instead as 'David Sheenan.'
