Episode Quotes |
| |
Janus: To the mystics, dreams are more powerful than waking thoughts. Your dream reveals your destiny. You are the chosen one.
Max Loew: Which doesn't leave me any choice. | Goliath: You are a man of great integrity, Renard. What has happened?
Halcyon Renard: Integrity is a luxury I can no longer afford. My illness has seen to that. I discovered an incantation which will transfer my soul into the golem. It is my last chance to move, to live again. | Halcyon Renard: How can you judge me? Your body has not betrayed you.
Max Loew: Our judgments do not matter. You must be able to live with yourself. | Goliath: I have my own destiny to face. I realize now that the hand of fate has guided us to everyplace we've gone on our journey. I must see it through to the end. | Preston: How did you get here?
Goliath: A better question would be, how do I get home? | Goliath: Renard, stop this madness! A weak body is no excuse for a corrupt spirit! | Goliath: Your city is in capable hands.
Elisa: And you get used to the weirdness. |

Max Loew: It takes a powerful will to summon the golem.
The history of the golem goes back to the time of the Talmud, which mentions several occurences of Rabbis crafting a manlike creature and using him to right wrongs. The most famous golem is that of Rabbi Yehuda Leow’s, the famous Maharal of Prague, who created a golem and hid him in the attic of the renounced synagogue of Prague. Legend has it that it survived the destruction of the Nazis and is still hidden in the synagogue. | Golem
The Golem's design resembles that of Nimrod's - the Sentinel Robot from the X-Men "Days of Future Past" comic. |
