Episode Notes

For syndication, Toon Disney cut out the shot where Petros's iron arrow penetrates Oberon's chest.

This episode explains why Owen looks so much like Preston Vogel.

Shakespeare's influence: once again the play A Midsummer Night's Dream is mentioned, this time very subtly by one of its own characters (see Cultural Reference).

Episode Quotes

Brooklyn: Why are we risking our necks to help Xanatos?
Goliath: I know the pain of being separated from my child. I would not wish it on my worst enemy.

Petros: I thought those creatures were your enemies.
Xanatos: Never look a gift gargoyle in your mouth.

Preston: We can't take much more of this!
Halcyon: We'll take what he throws at us and come back for more, if it'll help my grandson!

Petros: We haven't always seen eye to eye, David, but I've never been prouder to be your father.
Xanatos: Thanks, pop.

Oberon: You dare attack me?
Puck: Don't interrupt! I'm on a roll.

Puck: I've got a sunny disposition and I'm always kind to animals.

Cultural References

Xanatos: Never look a gift gargoyle in your mouth.

This is a pun on the proverb "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" which means that you should not question the value of a gift.

Puck: Here's... Puck!

This alludes to the famous introduction to The Tonight Show, spoken by Ed McMahon, which has been parodied many times in movies like The Shining.

Oberon: The humans will awaken in the morning, and this will seem naught but a midsummer night's dream.

Once again Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream is mentioned, this time in Oberon's speech.
