| Japanese Title: 「修好母子」 - 「Shūkō Boshi」
The DVD translates the title as 「Close Mother-Child Bonds」 | The Taiwanese agent tells Motoko that Kuze went by the name Rou while there. He was thought of as being calm, yet could be, "as brutal as a wolf." For this, the characters 浪 (also Nami for waves) and 狼 (also Ookami for wolf) apply. The agent also calls him a Rōnin, which is written as 浪人 and means lordless samurai (or person of the waves, meaning that the person moves around a lot). However, this is Taiwan and not Japan. Rou is the Chinese reading of the character in Japanese. The language of Taiwan is Chinese. Therefore, the two aforementioned characters for Rou would actually be read Lang. 浪人 in Chinese is actually read Langren. |
