Gilmore Girls: Welcome to the Doll House

Richard tries to get information from Logan about Rory's future plans, but Logan mistakenly thinks that Richard is asking when the two of them plan to marry. Lorelai is in favor of Taylor's plan to change all the Stars Hollow street names back to their original historic names, until she learns that the street where the Dragonfly Inn is located was once known by a disgusting name. Rory makes a surprising confession to Logan. Richard finally faces the fact that he should never have let Rory drop out of Yale, and shows up at Lorelai's house to talk things over.

Episode Notes
Rating: 3.8/6

The Birken bag that Logan gives to Rory has a retail value of $14,600.

The dollhouse that Richard brings for Lorelai is the same dollhouse seen in "A House is Not A Home" at Mrs. Kim's store.

Series recurring guest star Jackson Douglas (Jackson Melville) steps behind the camera to direct this episode.

Episode Quotes
Lorelai: For days, she's been emptying her house, sending me everything she doesn't need anymore, trying to smoke me out of my foxhole.
Luke: Well, call her and tell her to knock it off.
Lorelai: Oh no, that's exactly what she wants. I poke my head out of the foxhole, it gets blown off. Then I have no head, Luke.

Lorelai: Oh my God, I made it. Me, food, give.
Luke: BLT emergency?
Lorelai: Chili fries and black & white milkshake emergency.

Richard: The apple doesn't fall very far from the tree.
Logan: Not if the tree has anything to do about it.

Lorelai: We are the Inn on 'Sores and Boils Alley'.
Michel: Oozing, festering.
Sookie: Draining.

Lorelai: Sorry, I'm late. I found Paul Anka hiding underneath the kitchen sink, chewing on one of my favorite pairs of shoes.
Sookie: Boy, that guy's career has really hit the skids.

Rory: Logan . . . I love you.
Logan: The lady who sold me the bag said this might happen.

(at Lorelai's with the doll house)
Richard: I thought you'd want this.
Lorelai: Thanks. I do.
Richard: And . . . we need to talk about Rory.

Episode Goofs
Jackson won the Town Selectman election in "Tippecanoe and Taylor, Too", but in this episode, Taylor runs the town meeting even though he's not Selectman.

Cultural References
Logan: Silly rabbit, speed limits are for kids.

This is a take on the Trix cereal slogan "Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids".

Rory: Wow, you did it. You brought me the head of Alfredo Garcia.

The 1974 film Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia tells the story of a piano player who steals the head of Alfredo Garcia in order to make money.

Logan: Or you could just let down your hair.

In the fairy tale Rapunzel, a princess that lives in a tower lets her long hair down for a prince to climb up and save her.

Episode References
When Rory tells Logan that she loves him and then tells him that she doesn't expect him to say I love you back because she once had someone tell her that he loved her when she wasn't expecting it, she is referring to "Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers". During this episode, Dean tells Rory that he loves her and when she doesn't say "I love you" back to him, he breaks up with her.
