One of the best episodes of the season.
!!!!!! This review contains spoilers !!!!!!

After an arguably mediocre first part of the season (with the exception of the episode before this one), Lorelai and Rory finally reunite in a tear-jearker ending. I mean, what’s Gilmore Girls when the girls aren’t even talking? Good to have them back on track.

I enjoyed the character development of Emily during the episode. Her thoughts that she could fix what she thought she messed up on with Lorelai via Rory shined a light on why Emily is the way she is.

Despite reading the spoilers, it was surprising that Luke had a child. Although the concept of Luke having a daughter seemed gimmicky at first, the way April was introduced was very well done by the writers. The look on Luke’s face when he realized what was going on was priceless, and the actress that plays April is perfect for her role. She almost seems like a mini-Rory.

The Lorelai-Luke fight was interesting. It seemed like Luke totally overreacted to Chris; phone call, but he was understandably tweaked after learning about April. But as always, Lorelai’s cultural reference-infused comebacks were hilarious.

But all in all, the last scene with the long-awaited reunion made this episode as good as it was. 9 out of 10.
