Lorelai wakes up the morning after her night with Christopher. Though Christopher begs her to stay, Lorelai makes a quick exit and heads home. There, Lorelai starts to get rid of everything that reminds her of Luke and nearly empties her home of everything. Meanwhile, Rory gets a toy rocket ship as a gift from Logan and is confused by its meaning. She soon decides to go to London for the summer with him and soon learns that he already bought her a ticket so she can visit him for Christmas. Elsewhere, Kirk and Taylor cause an accident that seriously damages Luke's and Luke arrives a Lorelai's with a startling proposal.

| At the end of "Partings", Christopher gets woken up when Gigi comes into the room before she leaves for school. However, in this episode, which takes place directly after "Partings", Christopher wakes up when Lorelai tries to sneak out.

Chachi is a character played by Scott Baio in the series Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi. "Wah, wah, wah" was one of the catch-phrases that Chachi would use when anyone talked about intimate happenings and details.

"The Prodigal Daughter Returns" is the title of an episode from season 6, which is a reference to a Biblical passage about the prodigal son who asks for his inheritance early only to spend it all and become poor. When he returns home, his father still welcomes him with open arms despite his mishaps.
