Episode Quotes
Mrs. Kim: So, Monday you move in with me.
(long pause)
Zach: Cool...

Lorelai: Oh my God.
Christopher: What?
Lorelai: We're in Paris!
Christopher: You were thinking it was Phoenix?

Christopher: Well, I hope Gigi picks up the language and the customs, but not the rudeness.
Lorelai: Oh, no. Gigi's too sweet. She's got a perpetual coat of sweetness around her. In fact, you shouldn't have called her Gigi, you should have called her M&M.

Lorelai: It's weird. This being so hungry makes me think this time when we were in tenth grade. And for some reason I had to take this chemistry exam during lunch and it went on and on and on. Forever. And finally when I was done, I came out and there you were, waiting for me. And you took this slice of pizza from the cafeteria out you coat pocket and you gave it to me.
Christopher: Pepperoni, I remember.
Lorelai: Even then you were so sweet.
Christopher: Should we get back to the hotel?
(they start walking back to the hotel)
Lorelai: Wouldn't happen to have that pizza in your pocket, would you?
Christopher: Other jacket.

(after walking into Lorelai's house)
Christopher: Welcome home, Mrs. Hayden.

Christopher: Lor?
Lorelai: Yeah?
Christopher: Remember how I said that I would wait 80 years for you to figure out us?
Lorelai: Us?
Christopher: You and me.
Lorelai: Right.
Christopher: I don't want to wait anymore.
Lorelai: Chris.
Christopher: I mean it.
Lorelai: But don't you think it -- it's too soon?
Christopher: No.
Lorelai: We've only been dating for a few months.
Christopher: Try 25 years.
Lorelai: Yeah, but you know what I mean.
Christopher: So it took us this long to work it out, to figure it out, but we're here now and we're ready. We're finally ready, so let's do it. Let's do it right here in Paris.
Lorelai: No, not here.
Christopher: Why not?
Lorelai: Well, Rory.
Christopher: Rory? Rory will be thrilled.
Lorelai: Honey, I love you. I really do, but I think we should wait.
Christopher: Come on, Lor. We love each other. We belong together. What do you say? Marry me.

Episode Goofs
At Lorelai's house, Rory's friends find a growth chart on the closet door, some of the marks being from when Rory was 10. However, in previous episodes it was established that Lorelai and Rory moved into the house when Rory was 12.

Cultural References
Episode Title: French Twist

The episode title comes from the 1995 film Gazon maudit, billed as French Twist in the United States. In the film, a housewife finds out that her husband has cheated on her so she invites an itinerant lesbian to live with them.

Paris: Welcome to Club Nixon.

Former president Richard Nixon was forced to resign from office after the Watergate Scandal.

Lorelai: Are you saying we'll always have Paris?

In the classic film Casablanca, Rick tells Ilsa that they'll "always have Paris" before she leaves him.

Episode References
Lorelai and Christopher talking about how they planned a trip to Paris when they were 16 is a reference to "Dear Emily and Richard" where flashbacks show a 16 year-old Christopher and Lorelai planning a trip to Europe.
