Episode Quotes |
| |
Luke: Where you gonna live? Hartford's probably good, closer to Rory's school. Of course, it is a little far from the inn, but who knows how long you'll work after you're married. Oh, but you probably already talked about that, right?
Lorelai: Uh, no, but I do think he and my father have come to an agreement on how many goats I'm worth. | Rory: Did you use a timer?
Lorelai: Silly rabbit.
Rory: Timers are for kids.
Lorelai: I say 10 minutes, it's done. | Rory: You should walk down the aisle to Frank Sinatra with a huge bouquet of something that smells really good.
Lorelai: Pot roast. | Bootsy: So, apparently they shoot a gland from a pig's head into Ivana Trump's rear end twice a month to keep her looking young.
Lorelai: Wow, I hope she's not Kosher. | Rory: Grandma, I can't believe you found the recipe for Beefaroni.
Emily: It wasn't easy. Antonia thought I'd gone insane.
Lorelai: Well --
Emily: No one needs a comment from you. |

When Lorelai and Rory are in the kitchen after Friday night dinner, Lorelai is putting Twinkies on a plate. Once they are on the plate, the camera cuts between Rory and Lorelai. Between each cut, the number of twinkies changes from 4 in some shot to 8 in others. | In the diner when Lorelai tells Luke about being proposed to, the logo on the coffee can changes directions between shots without either one of them touching the can. | After Friday night dinner, Rory comes home and takes off her sweater. When she comes back out of her room, she still has the sweater on. | Dean's hands change positions from the bottom to the top while he is wiping down the water bottle. |

The title of this episode comes from the song "Sadie, Sadie" which was featured in the movie Funny Girl. The song was sung by Fanny when she compares herself to her married friend Sadie. | Rory: So, what kind of dress are you thinking of?
Lorelai: Um, the one Stephanie Seymour wore in the Guns N' Roses video.
Stephanie Seymour is a former supermodel who wore a wedding dress in the Guns N' Roses music video for the ballad "November Rain". | Lane: It's gonna be just like that Sally Field movie when her husband took them to Iran and wouldn't let them come back.
Lane is referencing the movie, Not Without My Daughter, which told the true story of Betty, a woman whose Iranian husband forced her to stay in Tehran. | Dean: I'm sure some people like it [breaking up].
Rory: Oh, sure. Cher, Gregg Allman, bet they'd give it a big thumbs up.
Infamous singer and diva Cher and Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band were married from 1975 until their divorce in 1979. | Sookie: Who's catering?
Lorelai: Bobby Flay.

Zelda Fitzgerald the wife of writer F. Scott Fitzgerald who were known for their lavish lifestyle. | Lorelai: Oh yeah, Dad, J. Edgar Hoover over here was just telling us.
J. Edgar Hoover was the director for the F.B.I. from 1924 until 1972. | Lorelai: Silly rabbit.
