Gilmore Girls: Jews and Chinese Food

When Lorelai discovers that Luke's boat is no longer in her garage, the void she feels without Luke seems even more painful. Luke agrees to build sets for the elementary school's production of "Fiddler on the Roof," knowing that Lorelai is the costume designer and hoping that their paths will cross. Meanwhile, Rory and Marty makes plans to spend a day together, but Logan drops by Rory's dorm room and convinces them to come out to dinner. After a terrible evening with Logan's clique, Marty tells Rory how much he likes her, but she admits she has a crush on Logan.

Episode Quotes
Rory: You couldn’t find an ATM?
Marty: Oh, no, there’s at least six ATMs within a two block radius and every single one of them is going to tell me that I only have eighteen dollars in my account...and then I believe they will flip me off.

Rory: He wanted to give me his side of the story.
Lorelai: Oh well, unless his side of the story includes having his long lost evil twin lock him in a closet and come to the wedding in his place, his side of the story doesn't exist.

Rory: So what's going on at home?
Lorelai: Big grapefruit shortage. The hurricanes wiped them out and Taylor is completely freaking out.
Rory: I'm sure.
Lorelai: And Patty and Babette are organizing Stars Hollow's first botox party.
Rory: Are you invited?
Lorelai: Are you insinuating I should be?
Rory: So the Hollow's low on grapefruits?

Rory: Well, it is Friday night.
Lorelai: Yeah, but Friday night dinner without Ava and Adolf. Lovely.
Rory: It's really not fair calling Grandpa Adolf.
Lorelai: No, no, that was Grandma.

Episode Goofs
During Rory and Lorelai's Friday night dinner when Lorelai is holding a knife and a fork, the knife and fork switch hands between shots.

When Lulu is at the diner talking to Luke, a woman wearing a black coat and white shirt walks by twice.

At the Inn when Lorelai is talking to Sookie about the play, you can see that it's light outside. Lorelai then leaves to go home but when she arrives home, it is already dark.

Cultural References
Lorelai: It's Haight Ashbury all over again.

Haight-Asbury, a district of San Francisco, became well known in the 1960s when it became the epicenter for the hippie movement.

Lorelai: Yeah, but Friday night dinner without Eva and Adolf.

Eva Braun was Adolf Hitler's mistess and cousin. They married one day before they both committed suicide on April 30th, 1945.

Lorelai: I'm pretty sure she's the one who poisoned the apple and gave it to Dopey to bring to the party.

In Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the wicked witch poisons an apple and gives it to Snow White. In the reference, Lorelai is insinuating that Emily is the witch and Christopher is Dopey, the stupidest of the seven dwarfs.

Paris: Then I must be Gisele Bündchen to you 24/7.

Gisele Bündchen is a well-known supermodel from Brazil.

Kirk: I’ll just be two minutes and then it’s L’Chaim to Life.

L'Chaim to Life is a play that tells the story of a Jewish father and son.
